I don't follow basketball but I really hope for Lonzo's sake he gets picked by some east coast team.  I feel bad for him.

You can't turn on ESPN without some putz, usually Smith, going off on a fake rant about the elder Ballsack' how everyone is talking about what an asshole the dad is. Other than ESPN and maybe a few NBA front offices, no one is talking about him, no one cares.

/ i know it's slow, sportswise, but this guy is a non-story

Send him to Toronto. Even with them being decent, they still never get talked about, since they're the 4th or 5th most popular team in their own city after at least the Leafs, Jays & Argos.

I don't watch the NBA and only watch March Madness, so I never heard of the dad before, first heard of the kid after his team lost in the tournament.

Two observations re: the Balls (lol)

1. Padre Ball struck out for his 15 minutes too early, the news cycle has moved on well before his son got drafted anywhere

2. I suspect the Sports Media is hyping this dad up in the hopes he goes into a city and farks shiat up like a little league parent would. I like to pretend that NBA franchises would be able to withstand such foolishness so we're just going to have to wait and see, won't we.

Espn paid a ton of money for the nba so we get too many filler stories

Notice when the espn NASCAR contract ran out they pretty much stopped covering the sport

Given LaVar means "To Wash" Ball is his name I gotta ask if his parents hated him from day one

1.  I completely avoid NBA ball in particular and basketball in general, but still heard about this guy a month ago.  He's had more than his share of 15 minutes, so mission completed.

2.  Little League parents typically require *some* humoring, which is way more than the helicopter parent of a guy starting his first "real job".  I can't imagine how much an NBA team wants to have a "competing [amature] coach" when dealing with a guy with 1 year experience in NCAA.  I'd say "second round for sure", but since practically every city and town (except Baltimore) seems to have an NBA team, there might not be quite enough other choices.  I'd still expect low enough to kill any claim of "being a star".

I think LaVar is hilarious. But I also don't have ESPN on 24/7, either.

Anyone notice that Ball's kid announced he will start to working out for non-Laker teams?
I think it'd be funny as hell if the Lakers passed on him!

Ya we need another Lindros situation again, or better yet The Mannings.
