Dude, Spicey Spice ain't even denying it. Let's stop with the sad little "but maybe this  particular revelation is a lie?" spinning.

Just swallow it. Trump fired Comey to obstruct the FBI investigation into his campaign's collusion with Russia to throw an American election. Then, the next day, he bragged about doing it to the exact same Russians his campaign had colluded with.

Feels bad, man.

A third government official briefed on the meeting defended the president, saying Mr. Trump was using a negotiating tactic when he told Mr. Lavrov about the "pressure" he was under. The idea, the official suggested, was to create a sense of obligation with Russian officials and to coax concessions out of Mr. Lavrov - on Syria, Ukraine and other issues - by saying that Russian meddling in last year's election had created enormous political problems for Mr. Trump.

I love seeing this wankers twist and turn and lie and distort in order to attempt to polish the turd in the Oval Office only to have Emperor Commodus himself completely undermine their carefully concocted image of him every time he shiats out another tweet.

I just can't stop thinking about how, in the alternate timeline where Trump never ran, or at least lost out in his prez run, how much happier he would've been. Doubleodoug: That's the defense du jour. No one is so stupid as to think firing the head of the FBI would make the investigation go away. Therefore Trump couldn't have fired him to derail the investigation.

Trump asked Comey to make the Flynn investigation to go away. Then fired Comey and said the pressure was off. Yes, he is dumb enough to think it would have ended there.

Remember all of Trump's previous companies are LLCs with 3-5 employees and everyone else is a contractor. He made his money by having enough resources to threaten the contractors he worked with. So while he "negotiated" with them he had a gun under the table to ensure things went his way.

Trump has wandered out onto a field where his money and previous experience don't mean a hill of beans. In his personal empire if he said "This ends now", what ever it was ended. In the government the two other branches of government can throw a monkey wrench into what ever you want to do (see the last 4 months). Even parts of the administration are expected to operate without direct presidential oversight to prevent conflicts of interest (ie Justice, the AG, the FBI). The best the president can do is slow or stall these investigations.

This is because The President is President and not a King. Trump is used to being a King of his little land, where he could do what he wanted in it and was beholden to no one. The Presidency is the exact opposite - The president is beholden to everyone and is severely restricted on what he can do without cooperation of the other two branches of government.

Buzzfeed did an interesting breakdown recently (yeah, I know, Buzzfeed, HAHA) on how the pro-Trump media responds to these things. It's the same basic 4-step process each time.
1. Silence, until the talking points go out.
2. FAKE NEWS
3. Deflect, change the news cycle. Trot out some other story about the left.
4. Close the loop. Merge the 2 stories, claim the "MSM" is creating fake news critical of Trump to cover up the bad news on the left.

It is also worth mentioning that having Spicey on live TV tell everyone that it was a negotiating tactic... negates its value as a negotiating tactic.  Explaining a bluff or whatever sort of makes it, oh I don't know, not work.  Right?

Actually, everything about the statement ruins it as a negotiating tactic. This is the gist of what Trump said:
Trump:  You Russians sure put me in an awkward position with your interference in our election!  I'm facing a lot of political pressure.
Trump: Except the guy investigating me was crazy!  So crazy, I bet no one would believe him.  So I guess there was no political pressure after all.
Trump:  And even if there was political pressure, I relieved it by firing the guy and ending the investigation.
Trump: And actually, I am not under investigation, so there was no pressure in the first place!

Trump basically said that the political pressure on him was imaginary or non-existent, and that he was able to resolve the issue himself, and yet somehow the Russians owe him a favor for this?  Even if we lived in an alternate universe where this was NOT an admission of obstruction of justice, nothing about Trump's statement makes any sense as a negotiating tactic.  AND his comments are a tacit acknowledgement that there was Russian interference in our election, something that Trump has vehemently denied in the past.   Trump made things worse for himself again.

Re-write screw up. Forgot to inflect the word "come". Fixt.

Wow. Classy.  Are your from the Colbert school or do homophobic insults come naturally to you?

This is as stupid as most of the shiat you post. No one cares about sucking dicks. Sucking dicks isn't automatically a homosexual thing, for one thing. Men suck dicks, women suck dicks, trans people suck dicks and pointing out the sucking thereof isn't any kind of homophobic slur. It is a commentary on the power structure of the relationship though, suggesting the cock sucker is the submissive, owned one in the relationship.

Sorry you're sad about Putin owning Trumperdink the Orange.

Even they can't swallow the "uhrm, negotiating tactic" spin. They know as well as anyone else exactly what it would mean if Trump really did reassure Russian agents that he fired the FBI director to obstruct the FBI investigation of Trump and Russia.

"The White House document that contained Mr. Trump's comments was based on notes taken from inside the Oval Office and has been circulated as the official account of the meeting. One official read quotations to The Times, and a second official confirmed the broad outlines of the discussion. Sean Spicer, the White House press secretary, did not dispute the account."

Good enough?  Or do you actually need to be present yourself in order to believe it?

This isn't science, it's more like court.  And it's the New York Times, not the National Enquirer.  If a number of reliable witnesses say something happened, it's ok to believe them.  Really.

Geotpf: JulieAzel626: Well, I wonder if The New York Times and Washington Post purposely dropped their stories while Air Force One was in the air?

Probably.  Or one dropped it the second the other one did.  This has happened multiple times already; The Times breaks a Trump story, and before the MSNBC anchor can even describe it, the WaPo breaks a completely different Trump story.

Yeah, that's a little frustrating.  It's a farking smorgasbord of farkery every day with Trump and his team.  We're like Mr. Creosote but with news.  We can't even digest the last thing we found out before the new thing that's even worse is out. And the talking heads are still discussing yesterday's bombshells despite 3 or 4 new things to discuss today - but they haven't sorted it all out either.

I mean, it's great because it's like a Gish Gallup of shiatstorms that the administration has no hope to refute because even if half of them are wrong or embellished there's still more than enough to prove that Trump shouldn't be President and most of his staff should be out of a job as well if not behind bars.

I fear for our country if Trump has a heart attack or an aneurysm. If he drops dead of natural causes related to being an old, fat, stressed-out waste of a human being, then the martyrdom and Clinton conspiracy theories will never end.  Civil War 2.0 would be in the offing.   I want Trump perp-walked out of the White House in as health a condition as it is possible to maintain.

There will be just as much martyrdom and just as many conspiracy theories if he gets perp-walked. The initial arrest - "it's a coup by Obama and Clinton!" The trial - "lieberal so-called judge overreaches!" The evidence - "faked, false flag, staffers were Dem spies who sabotaged innocent Trump!" And so on.

You're behind the spin, man. The White House angle is that Trump did say it, but it was a super secret 4-D chess negotiating tactic where he was reminding the Russians how much they owed him for, you know, causing him all these headaches by stealing an election for him.

Yes, that's even dumber than the obvious "he didn't really say it" line you tried to go with. The White House isn't thinking this one through either.

I know it means mainstream media, but in my world, MSM stands for men who have sex with men.  I always stumble over it.  Why would gay guys make fake news?  Ooooooh.  Media.  Right.

CVGScorch: smunns: The White House document that contained Mr. Trump's comments was based on notes taken from inside the Oval Office and has been circulated as the official account of the meeting. One official read quotations to The Times, and a second official confirmed the broad outlines of the discussion.

So it's fake news.  No sources and  no copies.  Anyone can pretend to read a document.   This is stupid.  And people fall for it every damn day.  If someone confirmed the broad outline than they didn't confirm the idiotic specifics did they? No they just wanted the words official and confirm in the same sentence for the retards to suck it up.  Way to go.

I've read this a few times to see if this was truthful or sarcastic and I just can't tell.

Several White House officials and even Snekretary himself admitted that these comments, the notes and transcripts were absolutely true and irrefutable.  So if all of these people say its true, are you saying that it's still all made up?

The White House themselves was circulating the transcript. It is their own transcript.

The times did not see the document, and one would have to question why such a document would even exist.

Much like they didn't ask to see the Comey Memo, you know the one that directly contradicts what Comey has said about the situation?

All it takes now to make an accusation in this mess is a call to a NYT reporter with an unverifiable story about something supposedly exists.

Because his lord and savior Trump said so, it's all in the good book my friend: 'and on the 111th day The Trump said to the Russian in thy oval shrine, "I just fired the head of the F.B.I. He was crazy, a real nut job ".

Heywood Jublowme: Elfich: Doubleodoug: That's the defense du jour.

I love seeing this wankers twist and turn and lie and distort in order to attempt to polish the turd in the Oval Office only to have Emperor Commodus himself completely undermine their carefully concocted image of him every time he shiats out another tweet.

The problem is everyone who has half a brain can see through it, but the people who believe in Trump eat it up.  This will just further their resolve.

It's kinda scary how deep their resolve is.  I wonder what some of these RWNJ will do if he actually gets impeached.  Most of these folks are the militia types.  I wonder if they'll prove that Right Wing militias are truly a bigger threat then Islamist terrorists in the US.

Has this guy even watched a TV show where an actor played the president? I mean, dude, could he even pretend to kind of have any sort of plan or sense of self control, self image, and what his job entails?

It's like watching a beginning skier take moguls. Moving uneasily along for ten seconds, complete blow out, gathers gear, moves shakily along, face plant, dusts off, struggles upright aaaaaand he's down.

As a sociopathic narcissist; he believes each face plant is a cruel and unwarranted attack by outsiders, he sees each act (no matter how petty or irrelevant) as him being a strong and decisive big-boy leader, and he sees his emotional outbursts and embarrassing meltdowns as those powerful scenes where the tv-movie-president gets real emotional and then acts decisively against all the incompetently evil "baddies" of the show.

I know it means mainstream media, but in my world, MSM stands for men who have sex with men.  I always stumble over it.  Why would gay guys make fake news?  Ooooooh.  Media.  Right.

Man those Russians are brilliant and retarded all in one neat little package!  Comments seem like relief that a nut job with a penchant for political manipulation wouldn't be anywhere near a position to make up some more shiat.

You are derping hard slow down. Where did I say he didn't say it? Comey was a nut job. I would be relieved if an investigation involving me wasn't headed by a whacko wouldn't you?

So Comey is crazy, now that Trump said it? Christ, you people are so easy to dupe.
