One official read quotations to The Times, and a second official confirmed the broad outlines of the discussion.

So it's fake news.  No sources and  no copies.  Anyone can pretend to read a document.   This is stupid.  And people fall for it every damn day.  If someone confirmed the broad outline than they didn't confirm the idiotic specifics did they? No they just wanted the words official and confirm in the same sentence for the retards to suck it up.  Way to go.

SPICER. CONFIRMED. IT.
Christ you kids suck shiat at this.

On the plus side, it's great for building up my filters.  Anybody still posting their "doubts" about the veracity of this claim are clearly in the tank or on the payroll.

Yeah but that's just three separate people in the White House confirming it. That's fake journalism.

Real journalism is when FreedomPatriot.ru posts a scan of a crumpled sheet of a computer printout that totally exposes the child sex murder pizza restaurant ring.

I've read this a few times to see if this was truthful or sarcastic and I just can't tell.

Several White House officials and even Snekretary himself admitted that these comments, the notes and transcripts were absolutely true and irrefutable.  So if all of these people say its true, are you saying that it's still all made up?

I very much see this trip ending with Trump running away to Russia.  I'm a little surprised they let him leave.

A few days ago I started thinking this could be Watergate and the OJ Simpson Bronco Chase combined.  With this news I think the possibility of that is greater and greater.

Some speculative fiction on that very subject:

He's gonna have trouble picking up the chairs on the plane though. Hopefully if he finds something heavy to throw it will hit the pilots and knock them out.

Nope, we don't want the pilots to suffer. The best remedy for a temper tantrum is usually for one to get some fresh air. You know... maybe open a window, or door.

pkjun: I sound fat: johnny queso: I sound fat: No one was recording.  An unnamed official "read" a "document" to a Times reporter.

The times did not see the document, and one would have to question why such a document would even exist.

Much like they didn't ask to see the Comey Memo, you know the one that directly contradicts what Comey has said about the situation?

All it takes now to make an accusation in this mess is a call to a NYT reporter with an unverifiable story about something supposedly exists.

This is the NEW YORK TIMES.  they cant even ask to SEE a document or ask any questions about it?

you sound more than fat.

reference the part where snek acknowledges this as true.

Did he, or did you read a headline that said he didn't deny it?

Sean Spicer, the White House press secretary, did not dispute the account.
In a statement, he said that Mr. Comey had put unnecessary pressure on the president's ability to conduct diplomacy with Russia on matters such as Syria, Ukraine and the Islamic State.

Again: even the White House isn't calling this fake. They're just spinning it. You guys got nothin'.

Wow spicer said something intelligent? Color me surprised!

chuggernaught: This baffles me.  Calling it a negotiating tactic is not the same as saying he didn't say it at all.  In fact, they just confirmed that he did say it!

It is also worth mentioning that having Spicey on live TV tell everyone that it was a negotiating tactic... negates its value as a negotiating tactic.  Explaining a bluff or whatever sort of makes it, oh I don't know, not work.  Right?

Elfich: Doubleodoug: That's the defense du jour. No one is so stupid as to think firing the head of the FBI would make the investigation go away. Therefore Trump couldn't have fired him to derail the investigation.

Trump asked Comey to make the Flynn investigation to go away. Then fired Comey and said the pressure was off. Yes, he is dumb enough to think it would have ended there.

Remember all of Trump's previous companies are LLCs with 3-5 employees and everyone else is a contractor. He made his money by having enough resources to threaten the contractors he worked with. So while he "negotiated" with them he had a gun under the table to ensure things went his way.

Trump has wandered out onto a field where his money and previous experience don't mean a hill of beans. In his personal empire if he said "This ends now", what ever it was ended. In the government the two other branches of government can throw a monkey wrench into what ever you want to do (see the last 4 months). Even parts of the administration are expected to operate without direct presidential oversight to prevent conflicts of interest (ie Justice, the AG, the FBI). The best the president can do is slow or stall these investigations.

This is because The President is President and not a King. Trump is used to being a King of his little land, where he could do what he wanted in it and was beholden to no one. The Presidency is the exact opposite - The president is beholden to everyone and is severely restricted on what he can do without cooperation of the other two branches of government.

Well said.  Trump is amazing because he artfully rides both sides of Hanlon's razor, you can always attribute his actions to malice and stupidity.  His money(by proxy power) dug hive out of his holes in the past that is all out the window now and he's flopping like a dying fish on the beach.

You are derping hard slow down. Where did I say he didn't say it? Comey was a nut job. I would be relieved if an investigation involving me wasn't headed by a whacko wouldn't you?

So Comey is crazy, now that Trump said it? Christ, you people are so easy to dupe.

They're a cult. Whatever the cult leader says becomes the new reality. Whether it contradicts things he said previously is irrelevant; that's all down the Memory Hole.

Heywood Jublowme: Elfich: Doubleodoug: That's the defense du jour.

Wow genius! He fired a nut job, then after a special investigator was appointed breathed a sigh of relief! All went away!

No, the special counsel hadn't been appointed yet when he breathed this particular sigh of relief.

AckAckAck: Jaws_Victim: This prompted one of the guests to comment that the Russia investigation is a refresh story, where you literally have to hit refresh on your web browser constantly to stay updated.

We can officially label this the F5F5F5F5 administration.

Or:

Trump is not the 45th president, he's the F5th president.
