To be fair, they are both owned by Time-Warner.

That may have something to do with it.

I mean, the idea wasn't that original.  It was the execution that made it work really well.  The MAD Magazine one is so poorly photoshopped that it doesn't have the same punch.

Every time  I hear the word "plagiarize", it reminds od a weatherman we had in San Antonio, named Alex Lopez, my Grandmother loved him. Anyway, in his newspaper column, it was proved he plagiarized it. Shortly after this kerfuffle, the TV station fired him, but he is still on television in some parts of South Texas, after being disgraced in San Antonio.

There was a great electronic archive (CD/dvd?) put out several years ago with all of the issues up to that date.

Al Jaffee is 96 and still does the fold-ins. Most of the usual gang of idiots has since departed. Saw an item in the news about him a few months ago. I haven't read an issue in years, gave my old copies away to an ex who has kids, but the kid in me is thrilled that MAD is still around.

Um, not really plagiarism.

Glad it's one more slow news day where Trump hasn't blatantly farked shiat up yet.

Yeah, Dave Berg and Don Martin are dead, but Sergio Aragones is still alive and kicking. And, most surprisingly, Al Jaffee is still with us at 96!

A distinctive architectural feature from the Russian seat of government added to the US seat of government to imply a link between the two regimes?

That's an incredibly original idea that no one could possibly have thought of unless they stole it from MAD.

Are you kidding?  The weather is all plagiarized except FLA and the west coast.  They just watch the weather one or two time zones over and report what weather is on the way.

not so. Some are (and the obits are getting a little sad). I've got a subscription and the thing is delivered to my mailbox. It's all about the fold-ins. Can't fold a website (well, you can but that voids the laptop warranty).

NobleHam: Both confused a cathedral for the Kremlin.

The "Kremlin" isn't the Russian government building, but an enclosed area in Moscow that also houses Russian government buildings. Those cathedrals are in the Kremlin and are the most distinctive feature of the Kremlin so they are just as much "the Kremlin" as the government buildings are.
