Trump is going to end up talking himself and his kids into doing 20 to life in a federal supermax prison.  I really do believe trump has absolutely zero idea about what he's unleashed.  he doesn't understand the history either.  there is no way he gets out of impeachment, not now.  its going to happen and he'd best be prepared for it.

his morning tweets make it clear how much the Russia story is distracting him and his White House

I'm fine with that. A distracted White House will do less damage than a focused one.

i'm not so sure about that....trump seems to have the ability to create controversy, chaos and insanity where none of those things should even be possible.

oh they're already saying crazy stuff like that.  the trumpers main defense is that Nixon wasn't impeached, trump didn't obstruct justice and that every story, every bit of evidence and every democrat and ever member of the media is making all of this up JUST to bring down trump.  trumpers believe that ALL of this is a lie.  all of it.  in their eyes, nothing of this is true.  its all fake.

and they honestly believe this.  you cannot convince them otherwise.  gods know, I've tried.

No, Mr. Trump.  Russia is a real country.  It is not made up.  They are the funny talkin' folks who keep giving you money.  Please try to keep up with the class.

Supermax is for violent or dangerous people.  He would get a minimum security country club prison because that's "equal justice under the law" for rich people.    We don't have a good history of jailing high officials, so even that might be a stretch.

Out of office, no I don't think he's dangerous.  On the edge of dementia perhaps, but not dangerous.  It's the will of the electoral college that currently makes him dangerous.

If so, that stuff needs flushing out into the open. A not insignificant fraction of US adults seem completely insane, and they will scupper any attempt to improve the lot of the average American. It needs the light of day on it.

This isn't about punishing Trump - he is, after all, a symptom - not the disease.
We need to cleanse this nation's soul of the sick, empty materialism that has infected it.
I do not hate trump any more than I would "hate" a tumor I needed to have removed.
So, actually, none of that matters to me.
Only stopping him and curing what made him possible.

Ditto.  Trump's a jackass but I lose about as much sleep as I do worrying about any other schmuck -- which is to say, none.  He's not the problem; that he was given the keys the country is the problem.

Sure, blah blah Russia blah blah e-mails blah blah Bernie bros blah blah Electoral College blah blah perfect storm of election fail.  Fact of the matter is, a schmuck like Trump should've lost the election by 70 points to a used teabag.  That's a massive, collective failure of civic duty in this country.  Anti-intellectualism, cynicism, authoritarianism and fundamentalism are running amok in this country on a level not seen since. . . well, ever, since none of our ancestors were dumb enough to elect a guy that bad.

Trump is just an abscess.  Getting rid of him will feel better, but it won't cure the disease.

What Trump said: "Y U investigate me? SOOOOOO UNFAIRRRRRR"

Quite probably he will go down in history as the worst President in the history of America, at least to date.

According to historians, the four worst are Nixon, due to criminal activity, Harding, due to corruption, Grant, due to his divisiveness, and Buchanan, due to his ineptitude.

And yet Trump has somehow managed to be more criminal than Nixon, more corrupt than Harding, more divisive than Grant, and more inept then Buchanan.

If he keeps this up, he is a shoe-in for worst President.

I am reminded of when Clinton mentioned Alica Machado in the debate.  Trump spent an entire week telling anyone who'd put him on air that "yeah, she was kinda getting fat".  He just would not shut up about it! and it kept the topic of how he treats women on the air for an entire week.  It was seen as a brilliant stroke by Clinton.  And yet even after the "grab 'em by the pussy" comment, he still managed to get elected.  What the farking hell, America??!!!

Materialism take more forms than mere greed for stuff.
The inordinate fear for one's personal safety, to the point that one is willing to sacrifice ones values for the illusion of safety is one form it takes.
Territoriality is another. As is tribalism.
When one places concrete things over values - that's materialism.
Hence the "prosperity Gospel", and it's belief that tax cuts are an article of Christian faith.
