No, no, in his wanking sessions.

I am well aware of the characters, sir, from Cindy and Molly to Pippa and Andy, with George and Beverly Ann in between!

Seriously, though...good for her.  Alcoholism is hell.  For the person, for the family, for anyone around it.  I think the long term sobriety success rate is 10% or less.  I consider anyone who does it a huge inspiration as I have had my troubles with booze.

Alcohol can seem like an all-too-easy solution when the world never seems to be living up to your dreams.

Also, for some reason I thought that Charlotte Ray had died some time ago.

She always gave off that vibe to me.  Even as a kid.  Maybe having an alcoholic father gave me the ability to spot another drunk.  Or maybe just the red hair, puffy skin, and glassy eyes.

24 years sober this past December probably be dead if I hadn't stopped drinking, sometimes I even think I made the right choice.

Charlotte Rae also played the wife of Grandpa Munster on 'Car 54 Where Are You'. Really liked old reruns of that show. She wasnt on Sesame Street til almost a decade later. Wonder if that show played a role in her alcoholism.

Google The Sinclair Method if you have problems with alcohol. That shiat has an 80% success rate.

Thanks but I don't really have a problem with alcohol anymore, just a chronic eggs and pencils crisis over the meaninglessness of life.

Quit once for 10 years & then fell back. 7 years sober now. June will mark 8 years, good Lord willing.

A lot of drinking leads to nose capilaries rupturing. It gets "that" look. Look at young & old pics of Carl Malden. He always had a big nose (bless him) but the difference between On the Waterfront & Streets of San Fansisco is remarkable. A good bit of that is booze related. Andy Rooney? Booze nose.

Good for you! Rock ond

pretty sure i would bd dead if i hadn't stopped. I had a stroke late on a Saturday night. Several folks at the hospital told me that had i been drinking that night (i would have been hammered if i was still drinking), i would have died.

Sober 42 years according to the article.  If you are claiming that anyone who manages to kick the habit completely must never have been that serious an alcoholic in the first place, I'm in no position to comment on that.  But I'll bet someone on Fark has had personal experience with this.

My point was she is a decade older than life expectancy for a female, alcoholism is supposed to cause long-term serious health complications.
