I would hesitate to call it a personality.

Walker: No wonder he gets along with Trump so well.

I wouldn't think those types would get along with each other at all.  And yet here we are -- Jones, Stone, Bannon, Trump....

But I bet you they turn on each other at the slightest little thing.

The revelation was made after Sherry testified that Jones had once taken off his shirt in a family therapy session, something she confessed was "a rare thing to have happened."

I gather she's never watched his broadcasts.

I'd pay to be a fly on the wall in that courtroom this morning, when Alex Jones is cross-examined by his ex-wife's attorney.

I've spent more time on Twitter in the last two days, following a Buzzfeed reporter that has been in the courtroom and live Tweeting the trial until the judge banned electronic devices in the gallery.

Still, I do find it commendable the judge is trying to keep politics out of this, and found one Tweet from the Buzzfeed reporter that stated Alex Jones had to be admonished to slow down when talking because the court reporter couldn't keep up.

I don't see why they have to be mutually exclusive

Well if he's an asshole or a guy with NPD, probably not the best person to be raising kids.  I wouldn't think this would help get him custody.

Yup. P implies Q. There's no glut of altruistic, kind, and loving NPDs on the market.

Interesting thanks

Which is what makes Jones' trial - and his impending trip to the witness stand - so alluring. Perhaps less interesting than knowing exactly what Jones truly believes is the prospect of watching legal experts compel earnest testimony from one of the nation's top exporters of loose facts, untruths, and partisanship. Jones' unenviable position then - disavow your lucrative professional views or risk losing your family - feels like a rare shot at the truth at a time when disinformation and professionalized trolling are staples of both sides of the political spectrum.

Isn't narcissistic personality disorder  just the clinical term for "a complete asshole"?

Why all this sudden interest in what makes Alex Jones tick?  He's a con man who discovered a schtick that works for him.  he believes his shiat about as much as Pat Robertson believes his nonsense.

Well, I think its quite possible to be a complete asshole without NPD but having NPD is a 100% guarantee of having "InsufferableguyI'dliketopunchinthedicksomuchitis".

It means "complete, total, and entirely unredeemable asshole."

You know that scene in Guardians of the Galaxy, where the guy said, "he's an asshole, but he's not 100% asshole"?

NPD is the clinical diagnoses for 100% asshole.

Because the problems aren't due to whether they believe their own shtick or not.  It's that masses of people believe it.

Pazuzu Smith-Jones: Pssst, Doc? People with NPD ARE assholes.

As a humble general practitioner myself, I agree. NPD has assholitude as a hallmark, as does Antisocial Personality Disorder. The main difference is that the NPD wants validation and adoration, while the APD patient doesn't care about that. From what I've seen of Alex Jones, he seems classic NPD- the times he appeared on Conspiracy Theory, he was nearly twitching at the thought of validation from Jesse Ventura.

2017-04-20 02:26:58 PM
That's very bigly of Jones to admit it, if even by proxy.  Most NPD-symptomatics I know don't.

2017-04-20 04:09:45 PM
That may be a reason, but it's not an excuse.

What a vile human being.
