Maybe if she raised him to not run with the wild crowd he may have lived longer.  She has a responsibility to teach him the dangers of the running with the other 90 yro hoodlums, who stay up pass 8pm, and eat sugary candies.

It's scary how children these days aren't living longer than their parents did.

Three out of my four grandparents lived long lives. My mothers mom live to be 87 and had diabetes. My dads mom made it to 99. My moms dad made it to103. He was healthy and mobile till a stroke a few months before he passed. My dads dad died at 63. He was a hard drinking, hard smoking motorcycle cop. My dad died at the same age. He also drank and smoked hard. He ate badly and he was a fireman. The others never smoked moms folks never drank and ate pretty well. My dads mom like her blackberry brandy...a lot.My mom died last year, a few years shy of 90. She had diabetes, and high blood pressure. She quit smoking and drinking several years ago, but she loved her chocolates and never ate too healthy. She hardly ever listened to her doctors, so I guess it's not to bad that she managed to live so long. I am 53, with a lot of health issues.  I just cross my fingers and hope that I can be around for some years yet. I would happily go today, though if it meant that I would not have to see my sons, or grandsons go before me. My oldest brother died several years ago and my mom was almost destroyed by it.

I really do think there is a serial killer out there, preying on old people. Especially the record-holders.

You ever notice how you hear about somebody being the oldest living person, and the - BAM! - they get snuffed?

It might be a nurse, maybe a doctor, who knows - but there surely is a very prolific serial killer out there targeting just the really, really old people.

This person needs to be caught, and stopped. This cannot be allowed to continue.

(sketch of what they might look like)

Shouldn't have over done it at the "mum's the oldest woman" party. I blame those Guinness folk.

If she's now from Jamaica, where was she from before?

So at 117, does this mean the worlds last person born in the 1800s is gone?
