Yes.  And you can add this somewhere in there above the prequels.

This.

I found SW:TFA to be a complete snooze fest. Rogue One was a far better movie, probably the best in the entire franchise, and might be one of the best films of the year regardless of genre.

yup. vividly recall walking out of the theater thinking "that was really forced "

Empire had the better ending. Luke loses his hand and finds out Vader is his father. Han is frozen and captured by Boba Fett. It ends on such a down note. Just like in real life. All "Jedi" had was a bunch of Muppets.

3 was the only prequel film I saw more than once in the theater. I watched it a couple more times on DVD/BR, but on my most recent viewing, I couldn't get beyond the horrible dialogue/writing. I had to turn it off half way though and haven't seen it since. That was probably five years or so ago.

9. UNNECESSARY CHARACTERS

Did the author watch ANY of the original movies?  They stuffed so many extra characters in there to marchandise the fark out of the movie, it was a wonder kids had any money left over.

#15 sounds like desperate grasping at straws (she used the JMT to escape Kylo! Eeexcept she didn't use it ON Kylo...), #14 has some validity (except that it's one movie out of 3 and we didn't know much about Vader either in A New Hope), #13 seems like they're biatching that it's not different enough from the original trilogy's tech despite it set up shortly after said trilogy...

#12 is a freaking cop out (again comparing the first of a trilogy to the second of the old trilogy directed by someone else). #11 is pretty correct (what do you expect though as someone ages?). #10 seems to ignore the concept behind Kylo in its entirety in biatching about Nu Star...

#9: In the old films, there were hardly filler characters, but here so many felt unnecessary. My laughter, let me project it at you.

#8 is hysterical when complaining earlier (and at #1) about how it was too similar to the original movies.

Was it the best ever? No. Not even close. Was it better than the previous tripe we'd gotten from the prequels? Oh fark yes. Could go on further, but I'm tired.

The worst Star Wars movie is Revenge of the Sith because of that "you're a good Moff, Tarkin, but not quite a Grand Moff" line.

With regards to #15, there's no real reason for her to know or even attempt most of the shiat she tries, Force wise.

Except this ties into #5, in that we know she's going to end up being a survivor of Kylo's butchering of the students or another student/relation of Luke and had her mind wiped by him, so therefore #15 is retroactively not an issue.

Peter or Dax or whatever evil genius from Ex Machina plays is a bullshiat shiatty shiat character that dies and comes back to life for no reason. It is full-on Biggs "we couldn't edit him all the way out" Darklighter except they 100% intended him to be in the movie and gave him an Aslan role because he, what, owns a robot? And if Dengar or whichever the fark extra in an overdone costume is a "character" in your opinion - no. Just no.

I prefer Bond movie aficionado arguing over which one is better/sucks more than Star Wars nerd raging over which middle episode was better than the prequels. It doesn't take a Death Star laser physicist to understand that Empire Strikes Back was superior.

/I would watch Star Wars prequels over Die Another Day or TWINE anytime, every time. Only theoretical Highlander sequels past the number 2 are worse.
//yes, the Quickening was watchable. Garbage, but watchable.

2017-04-19 11:34:27 PM
But you're all wrong. The best to worst Star Wars movie list goes in this order.

Empire strikes back
A New hope
(A tie between) The force awakens / Return of the Jedi
Rouge one
Revenge of the sith
Phantom menace
Attack of the clones

/Didn't like Rouge One
//working title was "Star Wars: Wink and Nod"

I liked Rogue One better when it was the opening crawl to Star Wars. I got up to piss, get refills and check on the sitter three times and literally missed nothing. How many farking remote desert planets are in this galaxy?

3 is terrible.  Do you have terrible taste?  And 4 was revolutionary, while 6 was rightly regarded as a bit of a disappointment as a follow-up to 4 and 5.  Fight's over.

2017-04-19 11:52:09 PM
While all the prequels sucked to varying degrees of suckitude, I still contend that if you watch episode 2 and fast forward thru every scene without Ewan McGregor, you get a pretty fun 45 minute Star Wars movie.

/it's how I watched it on DVD because it was so bad.

hammer85: With regards to #15, there's no real reason for her to know or even attempt most of the shiat she tries, Force wise.

I think it's implied in the movie that she's extremely curious about Jedi-type stuff.  Would make sense that she would have heard rumors about what Jedi could do.

Except this ties into #5, in that we know she's going to end up being a survivor of Kylo's butchering of the students or another student/relation of Luke and had her mind wiped by him, so therefore #15 is retroactively not an issue.

Do they specifically say that Kylo murdered the students?  I was under the impression that Kylo turned dark side and then converted them.

What a whiny-ass article.  "Insulting finale", really?  Grow up, kid.

The Phantom Menace had Darth Maul, "Duel Of The Fates" and the podrace. Revenge Of The Sith had lava. The Christmas Special had Bea Arthur.

There are no redeeming qualities in Attack Of The Clones. That movie is pure garbage. As Empire will always likely be the best Star Wars film, Clones is the absolute worst worse.

2017-04-19 11:58:51 PM
I liked the Kylo character. According to the the Star Wars lore someone who is following the Dark Side of the Force taps into their emotions. Kylo is just a student and has lets his emotions get control him instead of the other way around like Darth Vader did when we met him. I liked that fact that he acts like a spoiled child in this movie because I am thinking he he going to be more in control in the upcoming movies.

The only thing I thought was slightly semi-cool was Boba Fett's ship landing in the rain, and even then I remember thinking "I wonder what the chances are that this will be followed by another long dialogue scene packed with boring exposition?" Sure enough, it was. The movie should have been called Attack Of The Meetings.

They are treated as myth throughout the movie, and even knowing that they could do it doesn't mean they would know how to do the specific finger wave and speech pattern.

The only reason that scene works is if Rey was previously trained or even more bullshiattingly reverse mind read Kylo and learned to do it that way.  Or its just god awful writing.

2017-04-20 12:12:57 AM
Rogue One wasn't perfect, but it did literally everything better than Force Awakens. But I'll see Last Jedi b/c Rian Johnson isn't a complete farking hack like JJ Abrams. Hell, he's actually pretty good.

2017-04-20 12:14:56 AM
Anyone who thinks TFA is the worst of the Star Wars movies shouldn't be allowed to operate heavy machinery or work with children.

/Yeah, it wasn't amazing, but it's not even in the bottom half of Star Wars movies, quality-wise.

2017-04-20 12:16:18 AM
It's not the worst by a long shot but considering the amount of money involved and the kind of backing Disney can provide Force Awakens should have been better than it was.

Meh and eh, whatever. Second went from momentary peaks of "damn, this could be something better than the first one" to finishing at "OK, but no classic." But the third one was just there to finish the story. Kinda like Mass Effect's trilogy.

/Kanye West's clothing line has forever marred the Matrix's Zion scenes for me
