You wouldn't believe the volume of spiders where I live.  I have reached a peaceful detente I don't kill them and they can just do what what they do in nooks and crannies. It's rather witchy.

I walked into a spider web once. After the initial arachnoleptic fit I laughed at the perfect patch of web which had clung to the right lens of my glasses. Finding more webbing in my hair wasn't as funny though.

CSB: Once, on a road trip to a friend's wedding, we passed through a place called Indian Village in Arkansas. Winding roads and bobbing hills overlooking a spread of treetops about 20-30 feet below, not much in the way of guardrails. It was shortly after dawn and a low lying blanket of fog had started receding... except from the treetops themselves. Turned out it wasn't fog, the forest below was canopied by spider webs.

I didn't know I could feel such a strong sensation of nope, at least until I learned Arkansas has a tarantula migration season.

I kinda like spiders. They don't buzz right by my ear when I'm trying to get to sleep and eat things which do.

Wow, well I better take a look then, huh?
Clickbait writers are getting extremely lazy/annoying.

Yes, that made me actually laugh out loud. Perfect visual, Subby!

I also commend Subby on the visual.
I would also like to add that in my case it will probably be more like the upright doggie-paddle

I went through a web face-first this morning, and did about 10 seconds of the GET-IT-OFF-ME! boogie.
My wife was laughing so hard she had to sit on the floor to keep from falling.

Famous spiders in history (1960):

In our younger days, we rented a really small beach house for a week. Really small. A converted garage. On Saturday, we got to town late, after dark, and just went straight to bed. When we woke up and went outside, we discovered that the house had been enveloped in a spider web.

All it takes is one moderately self-aware spider to think 'why stop there, the bigger the web the more shiat it'll catch'.

So between the ABC news article and the MSN shameless reposting of said article, nothing appears to say exactly what kind of spiders these are, although MSN has helpfully linked a picture of a black widow which I suspect has nothing to do with this article at all. Is anyone out there knowledgeable about such things?

Burn it all to the ground, the whole field...hell the whole country.

Oh for fark's sake, it's not a single spiderweb.
