But weren't there a bunch of other studies saying that sometimes the hunger we feel is just dehydration and not actual hunger.

So, if salt causes hunger ... maybe it's that fake 'you're actually thirsty' hunger signal.

they have been doing it for years.
so it should have been free hamburgers or something ?

and when i eat pretzels i am not thirsty and crave water it is hunger.
after 50 odd years now i can get it right and eat something....ah no.

Maybe I'm reading you wrong. I was going to go the other way and say the tomatoes were ruined.

 Now an open-faced tomato cucumber sandwich needs salt. But a plain tomato is perfect as-is.
