I see the Mario Kart, Super Mario 3, LoZ and Metroid are bases are covered.

Other acceptable answers:

Xenoblade Chronicles
Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour
Mario Party 4
Splatoon
Super Smash Bros: Melee
Star Fox 64

2017-04-19 09:35:54 AM
Super Mario RPG?

While I always figured Maniac Mansion would be made into a movie someday I'm somewhat surprised they're going down the documentary route for it.

Proximity mines+melee. Somehow crouching and chopping someone's knee =instant death.

I want a 64 for goldeneye and mario64.

My guess was Ocarina when I clicked the link...

I have some disorder that about 5% of the population has where first-person shooters make me motion sick. (I can't remember the name, something like fixed-point something or rather). Especially if they have alot of camera sway ugh.

GoldenEye was so fun, I didn't care.  I'd play for 20 minutes, go puke, play for 20 more, get up and walk around, drink water, swear I wasn't going to play anymore....and then wander right back to it. I was happy when I beat it because I thought that meant I wouldn't have to play anymore...until I found out that beating the game just meant it started to suck your dick.  And then there was the fun of plugging in a few controllers, cranking health to maximum (or minimum) and playing immortal vampire gunfight with your friends.

Great game.  Greatest ever? Who knows, that's opinion.  But any game I'm willing to puke over but keep playing has to be something special, right?

Xexyz?

Seriously though.. Goldeneye wasn't even the greatest N64 game, much less the greatest Nintendo game ever..
Get farked, subby.

Goldeneye wasn't all that great, it's not even top 5 on that system.

In no particular order

Mariokart 64
Mario 64
Wrestlemania 2000 (yeah really)
Ocarina of Time
Super Smash Brothers

If you really hate Wrestlemania being on the list substitute  StarFox 64.

Nintendo all time greats?
Mario 3
Legend of Zelda
Mario RPG
Contra
Metroid
Double Dragon 1 and 2
Bubble Bobble
SSB Melee
Resident Evil 4
Mariokart
Final Fantasy 6
Link's Awakening
Link to the Past
Metroid Fusion
Wind Waker
Earthbound
so many more

Goldeneye was ok.  I never got that into it, but at the time I didn't really have friends, so my gaming tended to be solo.  Even today, I mostly do single player, or occasionally co-op.  I do play GTAV online, but I'm in a crew by myself and mostly just do pick-up missions and such.

Chrono Trigger is certainly at the top of my list of Nintendo games.

I preferred No Mercy to Wrestlemania 2000.  Still have my cartridge somewhere, though the N64 is not currently connected.

I never tried No Mercy but if it has the same insane depth of character creation and fun gameplay then it's the shiat too.

Dead for Tax Reasons: [img.fark.net image 417x465]

For years I've wanted to make a Bible RPG in the vain of things like Badur's Gate... As you go through you would be faced with moral choices, such as killing all the male babies in Canaan, or calling down a pack of bears to kill children...

You could have choices, you wouldn't HAVE to follow the scriptures of the bible. The scriptures would just set up the scenario. When you play the game a secret moral tally will be tracked and when you beat the game it will stack up your morality vs the God of the Bible...

I'd even throw in maybe some RTS style battles for the big Bible battles... Summon forth a three faced monster with a flaming sword to kill your enemies and all...

I will say this, the one thing GoldenEye deserves credit for, as far as I know, being the first game to combine action and stealth without allowing one playstyle to dominate the other.  It was the precursor to every game where you pick and choose whether to shoot someone in the dick, or shoot someone in the dick with a silencer, depending on how and where the dick should be shot.

Maniac Mansion was made into a television series in the early 90's. It bore little resemblance to the video game, but it was insanely clever and loved taking a hammer to the 4th wall. The pilot episode was the "10th Anniversary Special." It sadly was too ahead of its time and didn't last, but I'll always remember it.

Check it out below, the entire series is on Youtube.

It would go a long way into teach how nuts the bible really is.  It would have to be totally Old Testament though.

It did have the same depth of character creation and customization, more / better animated moves, and ladder matches.

The ring entrances were better animated in WM2K, which also had the create-a-belt feature, which was nice.

But for me NM wins hands down for Gauntlet Mode, which as basically a never-ending Royal Rumble (though it wasn't over-the-top-rope, it was still hella fun)

I loved Goldeneye, and to this day it's probably the game I've put the second highest number of hours into, but I honestly think that it's no where near as good as Perfect Dark (which I've definitelyput more hours into), not because of any shortfalls of Goldeneye, but because Perfect Dark added so much more to it. Co-op/counter-op singleplayer, crazy weapons/weapon modes (proximity pinball!), and tons of custom setup options. The only problem is that sometimes the N64 hardware had a hard time keeping up (though the way it would stagger the timing of explosions when too many went off at once could be exploited to be fun as hell).

Man, now I really want to play it again.

It had its flaws, probably didn't age well and was surpassed in practically every way by its spiritual sequel Perfect Dark, but that game pretty much represents the absolute peak of couch multiplayer gaming, before network gaming took over.

/Plus, the online username I've been using for almost 20 years is a direct reference to Goldeneye.
