Well, Edmonton took the night off last night like a boss and the Sharks still only halved the Oiler record for goals in a playoff game..

WTF?  The last thing I remember last night the Sharks were leading 1-0.  This morning according to DTMTS I see that the Oilers got the puck out of their zone three times last night.....

Now yesterday when I asked the Sharks to beat up the Oilers, I didn't think that they'd use up all their goals for the remainder of the series on one game....

Ah well, go Leafs, Bruins and get the brooms out for the Blues & Ducks.

Anyone want to speculate the bullshiat penalty call on the Bruins late in the 3rd period this time?

I'm lower than a snake's belly full of lead. And so are the Flames.

There's absolutely no reason to think we're going to win tonight. Three consecutive one-goal losses, each more crushing than the last.

There's just no coming back from that.

To the Flames fans who said I was crazy for wanting Chicago or San Jose or Edmonton instead of Anaheim, yeah, this is exactly why.

*sigh*

So sorry, Rev. I would have much preferred a Chicago/Calgary matchup myself (which was my bracket WCF bracket pic).

Hyper-specific prediction regarding the Ducks-Flames game: Anaheim gets two early goals by Eaves and Rackell. They ring up a 4 goal lead late in the 2nd period. Tkachuk ends up doing something phenomenally stupid and dirty with 7 minutes left in the game.

If Ryan Clowe was playing for the Sens, I'd guess that he'd try to interfere with a Boston breakaway while sitting on the bench, and the Bruins player would get a "holding the stick" penalty for his momentum taking the stick from Clowe's hands (while Clowe remained of course un-penalized, since it's legal for him to do that).

Good news is the Ref [Tim Peel] that called that game isn't working tonight. He was one of the clowns that called the second Leafs/Caps game with 10 penalties in the first two periods and none in the third.

Actually I think you'll win tonight.  That building is a big factor, and even though I expect Ducks in 5, your squad has a lot of pride and aren't quitters.

I'm not a fan of all the ref whining from Flames fans, because when you blow a 3-goal lead a bad call wasn't your biggest problem, but I get the disappointment.

Will be watching, and I hope you have something to cheer for tonight.

My predictions:

5-2 WAS (My Leafs are overdue for a bad game)
3-1 CGY
4-3 OTT (OT)
3-0 STL

I don't disagree with the other 3 predictions, but I actually think the opposite of the Caps / Leafs game. I'm going with 4-1 Leafs. I don't know why. Just a feeling that Washington is going to be frustrated and take a couple of dumb clutching / interference penalties because they are tiring out as the young guns have more stamina and speed after 4 OT periods in 3 games.

Is it just me or are the Caps utterly terrified of Nylander?  Every time he gets the puck Washington seems to go full panic mode.

Thanks for those kind words, but so far that attitude and resolve has netted us nothing. I don't suddenly see that changing tonight, though I would still welcome a win, believe me.

The 3-goal lead isn't blown if the high stick goal is called back. It was very close, I know, and referees are only human, but to me, that was a high stick.

And if the shot at the end of the 2nd was an inch or less to the right, that 'ting' would have been a goal.  Things happen incredibly fast & fractions of an inch matter. As far as the high stick, who knows.  If the ref had called it a no goal instead of a goal, that wouldn't have been overturned either.  Even if that had been a no goal, the way that the bounces were going & the way the Ducks implemented their patented "screw around the first two periods & then destroy everything in the third...", I don't think that the lead was safe even then.  Who knows, it is what it is at this point.

Anyway, good luck tonight for your Flames.  I kind of hope that they win tonight.  They're a good young team with a passionate fan base & should have at least one win in their playoff series.  That would give Anaheim the chance to close things out at home (always a nice mental boost to move to the next round with).

However, with the way that they've screwed up by taking the series to game seven & then lost over the past few years, I'd be quite happy to close things out tonight.  We'll see... but keep the broom handy just in case...

I know the feeling...will be missing tomorrow's games because of a long anticipated concert. Given it could be the last game of the season for the Hawks, not sure I could watch if things go like they did game 2. Updates on the phone will have to do.

But none of that matters, because Chicago will win 4 straight, right?
