It makes you paranoid when it is illegal and you know everyone in a 50 foot radius can smell it. Now that it has been legal for several years, that paranoia is long gone.

But while they may consider it socially acceptable, many users - four in 10 - hide their weed, for various reasons, most often to keep it from children or grandchildren.

That % seems awfully low, but what do they consider hiding because I don't think anyone leaves it lying about. Everyone's socks have a "hiding spot" if you want to look at it that way.

Even he isn't that stupid. He doesn't have the resources or political capital to get those resources and even if he did, legalizing weed is one of the few remaining bipartisan issues. Tons of anti-regulation conservatives are pro-legalization.

Smoking and of for over thirty years. Almost exclusively at home. I like a nice heavy Indica two hours before bedtime  - slows down my brain and helps me sleep. A strong sativa keeps me awake all night stressing out about financial planning.

I prefer to use alone, even though it's legal here. Not because of paranoia; I just like reveling in my own stream-of-consciousness without interruption.

I wouldn't bet my freedom on anyone in the Trump Administration not being "that stupid". More likely that he'll have to learn the hard way how hard it is to enforce drug laws without local law enforcement cooperation - though he might be able to shut down the state shops.

That said, that's a pretty cool move by SPD.

You can get fired for it. Even if you comply with state laws... even if you comply with state medical laws. Medical conditions are typically hands-off but not in this case. https://news.vice.com/article/medical-marijuana-patients-are-getting-fired-and-theres-not-much-they-can-do-about-it

The stigma of "Dirty Hippy Stoners" still lives on, so hiding Cannabis use from non-users is always safer -although now many people realize that a lot of people prefer Cannabis over alcohol and other substances!  I prefer it before sex, with friends, alone, snowboarding, biking and also to stay awake.  I also like the high CBD strains to give a "Body Effect" and to help fight carcinoma.

He's going to get a lot of pushback from the recreational legal states where they are making money hand over fist and the rec market in Colorado alone is providing 18,000 jobs.

I'm in a medically restricted mj and illegal recreational use state, am a parent, so yeah, I smoke alone and switch to vaporizer usage in the summer when the fire going in the fireplace isn't burning to camouflage the smell.

We are pushing for rec legalization in Illinois, but that's unlikely until we get our republican gov out of office who has refused to add ailments like chronic pain and anxiety/depression to the medical list.

If it was a Rec legal state, I could get edibles and safely made vape cartridges instead of the cartridges cooked up under questionable circumstances using who knows what to process it. The first one I bought tasted fine, this current one, not so much.

You should just make your own vape juice.  It's not that hard.

Sessions isn't going to do much of anything in regards to cannabis probably.  He'll probably make a few examples if anything.  The tide has turned and EVERYBODY knows it.

I'm under the impression that all this anti cannabis rhetoric is just so much FUD to stifle investment so Trump cronies can corner the market.

If Canada fully legalizes country wide (and it looks like they will) then it will literally be too late to do anything anyway.

/they will still be able to ruin your life for driving a day after smoking though.  So they got that going for them.

Give or take a couple dozen. 28 states + DC have some degree of legality. Of course, that doesn't mean actual procurement or use is legal since some states don't yet have the system in place to 100% legally grow or sell it. It took WA two years before there were legal sales.

I'm with you. As two plurals it should be "Dos" and "Don'ts". fark the style guides. And fark American grammar insisting that periods always go inside quotation marks, even when the quotation is not the part of speech being punctuated.

Fortunately, It is reaching acceptablity medicinally.  That's where it's most useful.  I will never be able to use it until I retire.  I'm fine with that but I hate that we still deny it to people that could benefit from it because "evil weed".

I very recently became able to smoke weed again, on probation and/or parole for much of the last decade, because I suck at correct life decisions.

Anyway, being that I hadn't smoked in the last 10 years or so, weed is completely new to me , everything about it. Dabs, wax, all this I had no idea what the hell it even was.

However, Even back in the day when I smoked very frequently, I could only take 2 or 3 hits, and I was pleasantly high for an hour or two. Anything after that, the borderline hypochondriac inside me would take over and I'd end up at the hospital thinking I'm having a heart attack (and the EEG would obviously state otherwise)

Anyway, about a month ago, I bought a gram of some homegrown from a guy I work with. He didn't tout it as being the most amazing weed ever or anything, so I didn't think anything of it. I packed a bowl, took a single hit, and blasted off into space. I was on mars for roughly four hours before I even knew what the fark human existence even was again.

Seriously. Weed these days is crazy. And since that day, I've hung out with some work people (average age 22) and smoked, and I hit it once or twice, but they just keep going, and going, and packing another bowl, and going, and rolling a blunt and...

I'm just like dude WHAT SUPERHUMAN POWERS DO YOU POSSESS THAT ALLOWS THIS.

I may or may not be really high right now. Off that same gram I bought a month ago.

/csb

I took up smoking pot to confront my demons. It was like going to hell for a few hours every time I tried it.
So after a while of smoking a little, every couple of weeks I fought them. It was a battle of getting the shakes and being faced with all the fears I have ever known but I kept up with it.
Now I can smoke a little on occasion and get pleasure from it.  From my perspective it is a great way to fight your fears and come out on the other side.
It was better for me when it made me paranoid and I had something to go up against. Now it is only a pleasant evening.
I miss the old days of fear fighting and coming out the victor.
