For a comic book that was ridiculous, and a movie I never thought I'd like,it was surprisingly good.

Did anyone say " Shut up and take my money" yet?

Hooray!

As long as they're good movies, who cares how many sequels there are...tell all the stories!  :D

Keeping with tradition, the 3rd GotG movie is announced before the previous movie is released.

I didn't really care for the first one.  I think I'm just a little too young to have gotten swept up in the OMG THE SOUNDTRACK! hype (my senior-by-four-years sibling was fully into that) and the progression of events was meaningless, or self-invalidating.

I'll wait for the second to hit Netflix, and I won't be able to predict my excitement level for a third until I've seen the second.

/Will make the effort to get to the cineplex for Thor: Ragnarok

Weird, I thought the third GotG movie was called "Thor Ragnarok".

Mole Man: I wonder if at some point if Blade will be in the current Marvel Movie Universe.

There's a couple of small problems

1. Snipes basically did too good of a job at the character in the first one. He's as perfect a fit for Blade as RDJ is for Tony Stark.

2. The movies that came after as sequels were liquid ass, largely because

3. Snipes is completely batshiat cray (and can't handle his weed) and has wigged out too far past his expiration date

Thus, they'd need to start the story arc over with someone new, and re-reintroduce the toon into the timeline.

Given the current shooting/releasing sched, I don't think it's feasible, reasonably

I'm the keener for superhero flicks in my crew, and the moment tix went on sale for GOTG 2 I snapped up 2 and then texted my friend saying "Woo hoo got the tix for the first premier night (April 24*)."

She texted straight back to say she just WON tix for the next night.

So we're going twice!

*That's right, bee-yotches. We get it April 24 here in New Zealand!

I farking loved the blade movies. Yes, all of them. The 3rd Blade movie pretty much featured the snark ryan reynolds would channel into deadpool. It's worth a re-watch for that alone.

There is a great behind the scenes from Blade 3 where Ryan Reynolds is in the car firing off one liners for ever because it turns out Snipes was holed up in his trailer, refusing to come out.  In the final cut he is in the backseat snarling or whatever.

Oh I know.

He was even communicating with the cast and crew with post-it notes he'd leave and signed as 'Blade'. 3/4ths of the movie was filmed without him entirely.

That was right before he went off on his "Don't pay taxes & flee the country" thing

This. He would work great in the darker world there, and they already have zombie ninjas and magic, so it wouldn't be out of place. I'd actually love to see a Netflix interpretation of Blade. Plus, wasn't he in The Defenders at one point?

I've long hoped for something along the lines of Midnight Sons for Netflix after the Defenders.  Blade and Morbius would both be great characters for stand alone shows, along with maybe Moonknight or another character with a supernatural background.

I thought millenials were the ones hyping up the soundtrack. Most viewers over 35 already had those songs  from Sounds of the 70s compilation CDs and various other soundtracks.

I had the entire soundtrack without having to buy one song.

Last I heard, Snipes was in talks with Marvel Studios to reprise the role (in the MCU, so not the "same" Blade, technically) and Marvel was weighing the possibility of either a Blade movie franchise, or a Midnight Sons franchise.

Given that they just put Ghost Rider on Agents of SHIELD, I suspect Marvel would lean toward a solo Blade Franchise. However, since Doctor Strange and Marvel Universe magic is now established, that means they could really get deep into Marvel's horror comics if they really wanted to.

I'm all for a new Snipes Blade series.

I usually hit these movies on opening morning.. no real chance of a sell-out on Friday mornings.
