Columbus politicians: "If you don't vote to spend public money on an NHL arena, there is no Plan B with private money and it won't get built."

Columbus taxpayers: "Go fark yourselves, we're voting this shiat down."

Columbus politicians: "Oh, hey, we have this private money and Nationwide Arena is the name of the new digs."

Columbus taxpayers: "Hooray! Corporate names are generic and suck but we'll take that deal! Hey, I thought you said everybody was asked and that there was no private money so what happened?"

*emails turn up verifying that the private money was coming if taxpayers told them to fark off*

Columbus politicians: "Derrrr!" *smoke bomb*

Now you know how Columbus has an arena for an NHL team but no NHL team to play in it.

When asked how he could suggest using bigger numbers to get to a desired result, Bonn said "it's natural, I'm a consultant."

When asked if being a consultant is different than being an economist, Bonn responded, "no; I consider myself an economics background."
Ladies and gentlemen, Donald Trump's next Chair of the Federal Reserve.

Where do I get in on this scam? I can make up numbers, too. I can make them up for less!

A former professor of mine once told me, to become an economist, all you need to do is get business cards that say you're an economist.

Whenever a stadium issue comes up and economic numbers are quoted, it seems no one ever asks how they came up with the numbers.  Now i know why.  They pull them out of their a$$.

Back in the late 80s I was working for a science non-profit down on 11th Street, N.W. and we put out a call for a very simple piece of (1099  -  less than $150.00) work.  I got a hard copy of Carl Sagan's vita.  To say he was massively over qualified would be putting it kindly.  His listing of peer reviewed papers;  single spaced with a three sentence description ran 42 pages.  I may still have the vita somewhere as I still am a Sagan fan.

I don't think it'd be an ethical issue to post it if you do come across it so if you ever do find it it'd be much appreciated if you were to please notify me in a thread.

Not that I'd understand any of it but it'd be cool to look some of that stuff up.

Perhaps a reference to the Blue Jackets being down 0-3 to the Penguins right now.
