I like the way they've been unfolding the story on this.  I know there's a lot of pressure to turn Jimmy McGill into Saul Goodman ASAP, but they're not doing it until the moment is right.  And with Chuck doing all he can to ruin Jimmy now, that moment is probably here.

I'm pretty pumped. This show is awesome. I had my reservations before it aired but it totally won me over.  It's slow but satisfying which is rare.

Totally. The Saul portion- which is very different than Breaking Bad, unlike the Mike portions- is interesting because it's slower, a different beast. It feels like you're watching actual people. That said, I'm geeked to see Gus return tonight.

Speaking of which

So in real life, we've got KFC (blech), Popeye's (good), Church's (meh), but the only Latin/Mexican chicken place is El Pollo Loco, which, while damn tasty, is grilled, not fried. Are there any chains that do Latin style fried chicken? Or do I have to know a guy who knows a guy, put on a pork pie hat and grow a beard and chase down a food truck that's rarer than a legendary Pokemon?

My nephew is a huge fan-boy of Vince Gilligan.  No matter how much I watch this stuff, it never fails to bore the living hell out of me.

So with Gus coming back, has there been any talk of seeing the cousins or Don Eladio make a return?

That's right, forgot about that.

Fun Fact.  If you thought the actor's voice who plays Mike's veterinarian sound familiar, it's because he did the voice of FBI agent Rufus Bellows in GTA V.

Chuck is going to make sure she hears the tape. Inadvertently, by accident, of course.

Or the guy makes the drop on the floor and Gus sweeps it up. The rest of their process looks pretty involved.

It was all a setup. Chuck knew how Jimmy would react when he found out about the tape. Now he's got him on breaking and entering and destruction of private property, with two witnesses.

2017-04-17 11:15:21 PM
Darn me, for giving chuck the benefit of the doubt. I almost thought he was regretting it but now I think it was just adrenaline from confrontation.

i dont undestand why kim would fall for jimmy in the first place.  it just takes me out of the show.

but, the script required beautiful, intelligent, compassionate - something jimmy could totally destroy and regret for the rest of his life.

I can see why. He's not an asshole dickweed or sports nut or brotato with a bro-gang. He's smart, interesting, and funny. He pulls her out of herself and gets her to try new things. He treats her well and would never raise his hand to her. He gives and gives and gives to a brother who hates him and is out to destroy him; he's loyal to a fault. He's not a womanizer or cheater. He persists. He is kind to the elderly, and kind in general. There's depth to him.

Clearly, he has his faults, though, but still - I can understand her interest in him.

All that and they both came from the mailroom so they're more 'equals' than if Kim had gone to a Ivy League law school after graduating from some high dollar private high school.

Yeah... not eating his food, staring at his target, moving to get closer to him, then digging through the trash? Gus noticed it right away and double tapped the broom to signal that the drop was off.

Again, beautiful camera work. Jimmy's sitting there, STARING straight at the guy. So of course he's not filling or even centered in the damn frame. It's off set, and you can see some guy, way out of focus, in a yellow shirt sweeping up around the restaurant. Everyone KNOWS who it is, but they wait and wait and wait to get him in focus. Gus sweeps near the guy w/ the bag, sweeps near the bag itself. The only "off" thing is that Mike would talk to Jimmy so close to the restaurant. That seems sloppy for him.

He was trying to keep an eye on the place to see who was going in and out to try and figure out who was following him. He looked to be at least a block and a half away there, which was probably about as far away as he could get while still having a good vantage point.

Getting Jimmy to do it wasn't the wisest move, but it's not like Mike has a lot of friends or has made a lot of connections since moving to Albuquerque.

Breaking Bad was good enough to support Better Call Saul as a spin-off, and they are both good enough to support one additional spin-off: Just call it "Mike". I'd watch the hell out of a show just about Mike, and I don't think I'm alone.

BCS is basically a Mike spin off considering how much screen time he gets.  I like the idea of a Gus spin off as it would completely open up the other side of the universe that we only got brief looks into during BB and BCS.
