At least Johnny Miller won't be there telling us over and over how he shot a 63 in the final round of the US Open.

/we get it

Like, why? Do we really need to go on the air on the weekends 6 hours before the leaders even tee off?

Why not?  Some people might be interested in golfers that aren't in late groups.

/they aren't going to force you to watch it

It's a nice, relaxing bit of background entertainment?

Watching the grass? On the TV?

I'd watch it but the Paint Drying Channel is going to be doing a marathon on those days.

I used to farking love to watch golf. Not sure what happened. I am sure I will be joining the vast majority of Americans in watching none seconds of this though. Enjoy.

Also, what else are they going to air anyhow? A random rerun? A weekend bowling tournament?

I love watching golf and I'm really looking forward to the expanded coverage. Bonus: I turn the sound off and listen to music while watching, so no Jim Nance or golfbro's yelling "Get in there!". I watched the final round of the Masters twice, great to see Sergio Garcia not choke again.

Considering how mind-numbingly boring F1 is these days and NASCAR always was, golf is action packed in comparison.

It's funny, I had to stay home with my sick kid on the Friday of the Masters and I figured I lucked out since I'd be able to watch golf all day long. Come to find out TV coverage didn't even start until 3:00pm. Assholes.

The Masters has always been stingier with the coverage than any of the other majors.  It's a Tradition Like No Other™, after all.
