I thought this article was going to be about someone who got a DUI or killed someone after drinking a 6-pack.

FTFA "No one actually knows that you're sporting abs under your clothing. ".  Wrong.

Actually most gym bunnies don't wear many clothes that I've noticed.  If it's 20 degrees and they are tossing tires they aren't wearing sweats.  It's like they sit inside by the heater until someone yells "car" and they all rush outside to be seen.

Try pounding a six-pack of Four Loko before driving the Popemobile to a bullfight. You will change some lives.

I go by the gym first thing every morning. Haven't missed a day in more than 10 years.

Yeah, when I was 18 (the legal drinking age of the time), I wouldn't say it was life changing, but I found out I'm a lightweight when it comes to alcohol and impairment.
A pitcher of beer with pizza for lunch at the place just off campus did seem to improve freshman calculus. "Seem to" being the operative phrase.

It's cool in the summer time. Makes everyone think you are super-disciplined. I mainly just eat more vegetables and burn more calories when it's hot. I fluctuate about 15 pounds between winter and summer each year, but I think I need to stop that now that I'm over 45. And by stop that, I mean I need to stop adding the 15 over the winter.

I will stick around here long enough to get the washboard and let you know.

Well. Haywood and Bluebox,
I have a trainer.
Girl I dated once.
She was a model, then was a bodybuilder... no shist.

I eat and work out and report to my doctor, who, BTW says she's never had a patient who did this and is impressed.

I have had to buy new clothes and definitely feel better.

Christ. I was a fat Fark.

So when you see me fat shaming fatty O'Beasity on Fark, it's because I know that anyone can do it.  If they want to.

I am not putting it back on.

Been there, done that.  I cut 40 pounds a couple of years ago and felt amazing.  Bad habits helped me slowly put most of it back on, but I'm on my way back down again. I work out several times per week, but I also enjoy high ABV (and therefore high calorie) beer.  It's a balancing act.

It's amazing how many aches and pains that people attribute to old age are just being overweight or just lack of fitness.

Again, good for you.  Keep after it and you'll continue to be rewarded. 👍🏼

I've in the past made fun of a trainer but no longer.  You have someone there even if it's just a voice egging you on.  That's needed.  Just someone there encouraging you and not hammering you.

I have just the opposite problem.  I'm too small.  Even working out my butt off and eating like a cow I've never been able to get over 132lbs as my max.  I'm only 5'5" though.  I quit working out and have settled down to 116 lbs.  I think I have helium in my bones or something.

Not speaking for PToS as I don't know where he pulled that from but I'd guess that way.  340 6-pack most likely or 440 6-pack it's hard to judge on a non-stock car.  Chrysler seemed to advertise them the most but I'd think most domestic mfg's had something similiar.  As for syncing I'd guess maybe fun but a PITA

I'd have to give up beer to drop the twenty or so I would like to lose.

Fun was my way of saying pain in the ass. I've synched VW Beetles with 2x2 and motorcycle carbs. It can be very frustrating and not really that fun.

Ex-Myer's Manx owner here that had flat VW squarback engine in it with dual carbs that I could never get just right.  The fan on the back looked like the biggest turbo in the world..

Author says he realized he could achieve things once he got to be skinny enough to have a six-pack. And it allowed him to quit worrying about his weight.

That's great and all, but it sounds so dopey to attribute that to a six-pack. At least say that you achieved fitness goals, rather than specifying one particular thing that is entirely cosmetic.

2017-04-16 08:46:53 PM
The dumbf*ckery of this article is mind boggling.

- When I first got lean enough for a six pack, I thought that everyone would view me differently.

huh?

I had a six pack (eight actually) from my teens until my early thirties. Then I got fat, got disgusted, and decided to get it back at 45. It's a lot harder than it used to be.

2017-04-16 08:58:42 PM
I've had a sick-pack my whole life due to having a body type that does not gain weight easily, but I've noticed that as I get closer to 50 I'm developing a small spare tire that I can't get rid of no matter how many calories I cut.  I remember reading somewhere that as men get older their body will hang on to a little extra around the mid-section and there isn't too much that can be done about it.  At least that's what I'm telling myself to make me feel better.
