I dont want to be on this planet anymore: An armed society is a polite society... that kills each other at an alarming rate over some really stupid shiat.

Putting down $100 on the assailant being a multiple felon, at least one weapons charge in the past, in possession of a firearm, probably stolen.  But minimum federal firearms sentences are racist or some such bullshiat.

This is why we can't have nice things

I gave up on the chains 15 years ago when some beauty school flunkie made small talk by asking me what I was doing for spring break ( i was 24) and proceeded to start the haircut by chopping an inch off my bangs

I've gone to barbershops ever since.

If only that barber and the other customers had guns, the right person could have been needlessly killed here with maybe only some others injured or crippled over $8.

The suspect, Ryan Thornhill, 36, is believed to be the man injured in the parking lot.

Reading the article, the assailant was shot as well.

Ie. the wounded guy in the parking lot. Either the barber shot him, or another customer did, but then fled the scene to avoid the hassle.

Which kinda takes away the argument, in this case at least (I think its the same in general), if someone pulls a gun on you, you being armed yourself at best allows you to fire one back before taking your dying breath.

The answer in this situation clearly wasn't Moar Guns.

Sounds like Thornhill left, got a gun from wherever, and brought it back to shoot the guy. Should be a straightforward first degree murder case.

They're not uncommon.  My guy, "Angel," charges $10 if you're over 55, otherwise $12.

Curious how Thornhill got injured so badly he requires hospitalization.  That wouldn't happen if he just came into the shop shooting.  So I imagine Thornhill came back with $8, the barber said, "NO, eight MORE bucks!" They  argued.  Barber tried to escort him out. Came to blows and Thornhill was "in fear for  his life" so he stood his ground.  Florida.

"Baristas" at Starbucks, who get an hourly wage, put out tip cups. It's pretty disgusting. Tipping is the great American Guilt Tax.

Dumb statement, as bullets are much easier and cheaper to make than guns.  I mean, it's not like there is an entire industry dedicated to supplying people that manufacture their own ammunition or anything.

I know Rock was trying to be funny, but trying is the operative word.

I don't understand why it's disgusting.  Well, no:  It's disgusting in that it's considered mandatory.  If I get sucky service, I'm still expected to tip something, and that pisses me off.  I feel like I'm being forced to pay extra for incompetence or other undesirable behavior.

What I generally do is if I get good service, I'll figure 20% and round up to the nearest whole dollar.  So yesterday the waitress who served us lunch got a 22.22% tip.  For poor service, I figure a 15% tip and round down to the nearest dollar, so she could have gotten a 14.81% tip.

Based on those percentages, and the fact that in both cases the tip would have been an even dollar amount, how much did it cost me to buy the bopper family's lunch yesterday?

Actually, having thought about it, it's a brilliant idea.  I'd be able to make money hand over fist selling bullets to bad guys at $5 a round.  Maybe even $10 a round.  After all, it's not like criminals go to the range and practice very much.  I could make a really nice living selling just a single box of 20 rounds per day.
