Translation:  The Hall of Fame wants to put the exhibit together without breaking their budget.  But that's the curse of the sports memorabilia market.

I'm just glad my board of directors has caught on to the notion that we don't need everything in our collection to be autographed.  We have a number of items that should never have been accessioned in the first place, had I or someone with a grasp of how to write a collections policy been present when our museum opened.

Example:  We have an autographed poster of Stan Musial.  He never played in North Carolina, even in his brief minor league stint.  He made no significant contribution to the history or heritage of baseball in this state.  But it's on the wall because folks thought having an autographed picture of one of their favorite players made sense.

/Why yes, updating my catalog is spiking my blood pressure.

Can't they just have Bill Murray hang out in the hall? That'd be pretty cool.

They need Bill Murray's hat from the SNL skit, now that you mention him.

Most of the pieces of memorabilia are fakes anyway.  I'll give you twenty bucks.
