YES. And then I wondered who's tracking ISIS' chocolate supplies and why I should care. And then I reread the headline.

Anyone selling you 100% Columbian coffee is selling you crap. There are only two kinds of coffee: arabica and robusta. Arabica is the good stuff. If it doesn't say that then it's crappy robusta.

I buy 100% Colombian beans. I don't have to ask if they're Arabica. The same thing goes for the single-source Costa Rican, Kona, various Ethiopian, Sumatran, Vietnamese, etc. If you're buying ground coffee in the grocery store, that's when you're getting crap, no matter what the label says. If you don't recognize the differences among geographic coffee origins, you really don't know anything about coffee.

You know, I spent some time in Guatemala, picking coffee. We used to roast the beans we picked right off the trees. That was good. This is shiat.

The differences in growing conditions, in how ripe the coffee when harvested, and the processing methods can all contribute to the flavor. Also, even if the plant is the same species, there are different varietals grown in various locations.

There are also more than two coffee species.
