Wait, now. I'm not a cop, but I do watch cop shows.  And I thought all "cold cases" involved a rookie detective who finally figures out that the wife/husband had taken out $900,000 in life insurance policies on the spouse shortly before the mysterious death/disappearance.  27 years after the fact...

Oh, come on.  If Deus Ex has taught me anything, it's that the shortest distance between two points involves prying a vent cover open and crawling through duct work.
