What's a physical home button?

Love my OLED curved bezel rounded back Moto-X, from 2013.

It looks like the cameras will protrude from the body of the iPhone, too, which will likely make the smartphone wobble when placed on a flat surface.

They f*cking already do that!

Who needs a smart phone? I still have a rotary phone from the 1960's and it works just fine for me, consarnit.

Rotary phone?
I make do with my pigeons just fine. That Bell whippersnapper is doing nothing but causing bad manners. Can't have a good talk these days.

Well, my wife made me upgrade from the smoke signals I'd been using for years. Served me just fine, but she was worried I was gonna burn down the house.

Even if that's real, what's wrong with it?

It's basically an iPhone 7+ with a smaller bezel and no home button. In other words, it sounds about right for what you'd expect from the next iPhone generation. I'm sure the processor will also undergo an incremental improvement. Right or wrong, masses will buy it like they do every time.

The only way you think this is a problem is if you thought the 7 was bad AND expected the next one to be awesome, which would be an unlikely combo of thoughts.

Smoke signals...I remember those days. Took a while to get used to when you're a pictograph type of person. But it made multitasking easier. Got meat cooked and sent the invitation to dinner at the same time.

House? HOUSE?
We had to try to make smoke signals in a lake.

There are at least two different designs in slideshow.

They aren't coming out with a flip version, so I'll stick with my Moto Razr for another generation of phones, I guess.

Do people still get excited about phones?  Nobody I know gives a damn.  Even crappy phones can do pretty much everything high end ones can.

I bought a fifty dollar smart phone while mine was in the shop. Yes they "can" but the process is so slow and painful that you almost don't want to.

Schematic of a smartphone:
Put the processor in the middle, surround it with a speaker, microphone, a few buttons, a battery, a display and a touchscreen. There will be a USB connector of some kind.

If it's an Apple product you don't even have to spend time on a headphone jack.

//too lazy for Visio on a Saturday.
If some guy can diagram all the components of the processor and their interconnections, I'll be impressed.

I bought a protective case for my 7. It lays flat now.

There, I fixed it.

My Mom actually still has one and the great grandkids are fascinated by it.

If they have to make a call for some reason they insist on going to her bedroom to dial the number with the rotary dial.

Now, unlike their peers, they know why it's still called dialing a number.

Just fark it with the OLED display predictions already. It's expensive, and it has burn-in issues that isn't going to be solved anytime soon. It's been "predicted" since iPhone 3G, and it's been wrong since. Forget about it.

I wouldn't mind it, but then again I'm not massively paranoid.
