I lost a chunk of my nose to a brown recluse, so I'm getting a kick outta this

I had one bite me on my stomach.  Not a fun experience. Broke out in a full body rash. It started as a silver dollar size welp raised up about a quarter inch with a dime size rotted hole in the middle. I showed my dad and he gave me the old rub some dirt on it. Ended up getting a shot at the ER.

Same thing here- only its on my nose, and people who notice it are afraid to ask about it because they think I had skin cancer.

Good times.

Probably better than then punchline of this tired joke. I'm not wishing a brown recluse spider bite on you, but...

"Now, nobody likes a good laugh more than I do, except perhaps my wife, and some of her friends - oh yes, and Captain Johnson, come to think of it - most people like a good laugh more than I do, but that's beside the point. Now, let's have a good clean, healthy outdoor sketch. Get some air into your lungs. 10, 9, 8, all that..."

My stepdad's foster mom lost a large chunk of her leg muscle when she was bit by one...and decided to wait a month before seeing a doctor because it was back in the 70s.

Oddly enough I was at first outraged, then I asked myself "Is this something I would laugh at if Chris Rock said it on stage?" And the answer is, of course I would. And for all you or I know, this could be Chris Rock's Fark handle. Or Dave Chappelle's handle. Or maybe David Duke's. I'll be outraged when someone uses it as code instead of easily dismissed on topic spider humor.

She sure likes to pose for selfies with her spider bite. Like, a lot.

I like the one where she's reclining suggestively on a bed and the one(s) with duckface.

/sucks about the bite though, at least she's alive

Looking at those pics she got off easy, maybe because there's not as much tissue to get damaged on the check bone.

At first I though this girl was spider girl Katrina Dewees here's a quick vid of what I mean, but be warn, has major creep factor

I got bit on my wrist while I slept woke up with an aching, itchy blister. I ended up running a fever that day and my joints ached for a bit. I am guessing it wasn't envenomated because it didn't rot half my hand off. It just itched wicked bad, like when I had the shingles. It took more than a month to heal and I have a tiny hole. I didn't really have anything exciting to say, I just wanted to tell my spider bite story too, minus the duck face, and comments about my "on point" eyebrows.

What's "asinine" about this? Brown recluse bites are serious shiat. As you can see, the skin turns neurotic and just rots away. People document this shiat all of the time. Before Twitter, they'd call friends on the phone.

Pretty sure you mean "necrotic".  Although neurotic is way funnier.

Goddamit, you'd think I'd learn to check any word more complicated than "it" when posting from my phone.

Neurotic skin is kinda funny, though... :-)

That's because she's incredibly vapid and inane, and likely gets most of her self-esteem from other people.

How about cutting her some slack? She just lost 30 lbs (it's right there in the article), plus she wants to show young women that you don't always have to be perfect. I think it's great.

The poses etc. are her way of having a little fun with it. And it's probably not duck face -- her face is very swollen. You might have noticed that if you were paying attention.

Assholes.

I got bit by a spider on my elbow some months back. Luckily for me, it wasn't poisonous and all I can figure is that it'd crawled in my bed and started biting the big pink fleshy thing once it started moving in its direction. It itched to high heaven and took a relatively long time to heal, partially because elbows move and rub up against things pretty regularly.

You seem reasonable.

Please accept my sincerest apologies for noticing that this woman was posing for selfies (many) to show off her spider bite.

She's using her "fame" (I don't know who she is, but apparently a lot of young women do) to help spread awareness of and encourage young people not to ignore the gross stuff that happens to your body, because it can be an indication of something really bad, even deadly. It's not easy for a young woman to show herself in such an unattractive, even disgusting appearance; I applaud this one for doing so.

You seem reasonable, so I hope you will forgive my lapse in not seeing how that makes her "incredibly vapid and inane." Then again, she is a young woman, and "vapid attention whore" does tend to be the default assumption among a large subset of male Farkers.
