That was one of my favorite Mark Twain stories...A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Laundry Pile.

Been there.

We went to serve a relatively benign warrant one night for fraud or something similar.  We knocked on the door for a good 10 minutes and nobody would answer, though we heard them talking inside.  The door was finally forced open and we found the guy, all 400+ pounds of him, trying to disguise himself in a pile of laundry on the floor of the walk-in closet.  Biggest pile of clothes I'd ever seen; while also simultaneously being the worst hiding place I've ever seen.

Police said they found Ramos hiding in a crawl space under a laundry pile and arrested him.

Who puts their laundry in a crawl space?

What kind of upper-floor apartments have crawl spaces?

Ah, the sweet mysteries of life!

"Before police could arrest Ramos, officers said he fled on foot from his apartment to a vacant apartment on a higher floor. Police said they found Ramos hiding in a crawl space under a laundry pile and arrested him."

A crawl space on a higher floor?
Why is the vacant apartment door even open?
Why does a vacant apartment have a laundry pile?

Hopefully with enough beating, he will come clean.

Incident on 57th Street: [ image 736x502]
Well, they scare me.

The man likely won't post bond unless he's dirty, rotten, filthy, stinking rich.
