(Major League Baseball)   With the Indians already losing 10-4, Michael Martinez becomes this season's first position player pitcher and he couldn't stop laughing ... even more than the White Sox   ( mlb.com) divider line

I always love seeing position players pitch. Quite often, they can hit mid-90's (especially third basemen) but they only know how to throw fastballs.

That was a lot of fun. Good on him.

Cleveland, you still mad about coming so close last night but still losing?  Hope so!

That game was awesome!  Position player pitching is yet another thing that makes baseball fantastic, and I love that it was another (former) Phillies player.

Johnny Rockets: Oh yeah, my post didn't come back to bite me in the ass at all.

I had a chuckle reading it before the game knowing "Tigers starter Justin Verlander, in his previous 48 starts vs. Cleveland, has a 19-21 record with a 4.48 ERA (303.2IP/151ER) and 326 strikeouts. Verlander made five starts vs. the Indians last season and went 1-3 with a 4.88 ERA (31.1IP/17ER) and 36 strikeouts".
I don't think that he really incites fear into Cleveland as you might believe.
