AKA four coos who were shot dead by other trigger-happy cops.

I will die from Cannabis.

Kinda funny since I and everyone I know assumed booze or coke. Nope.

I will be murdered by my own government in my own home because of weed. They will break down my door, shoot my dog, and then kill me.

Fark you America.

On a more upbeat note: Legal history was made here in Sweden the last few weeks, with 2 people being given the right to prescribed cannabis for their chronic ilnesses. They even get it from a regular pharmacy, with all the rights of it being a regular prescribed drug.

For those of you playing at home, this is about as big a step forwards here that I'd even dared dream of seeing before I died. There are so many cases that will be given real hearings, and real hope to so many more for the doors this will begin opening. (myself included.)

/End The War On People

The deadly raids are a reminder that an activity that's legal and celebrated in some states -- selling weed -- can get you killed in others.

Isn't it (stupidly and unnecessarily) still Schedule 1 under federal law?

./ don't care for weed, but truly hate lazy "journalism"

State. It's even in your quote.

If it is legal at that level, then it holds true in that context.

I've wanted to host a fark party in Colorado for a long, long time. (fu tfd)

Not sure free Cannabis, local beer, local spirits, and whole hog bbq and a bunch of local bands would gain much traction, though. Weak, but pretty much all I got to offer.

If I live to sell my house this summer, maybe.

What say you, Drew Curtis?  I will drop the coin, at least I will until Jefferson Beauregard tries to take it.

Not really. Guess which law overrules the other if state and federal laws disagree. State can say "legal" all night long; If the DEA busts you, state law means nothing.

The war is already lost and has been for a long time.  All that's left is the atrocities to be committed.  I mean, will you think of the poor cops?  All they want to do is bust in some poor guy's door and wave assault rifles and submachine guns around his family and be vindicated by a roach in aforementioned guy's ashtray... Bearing weapons intended for a battlefield around some guy's house is obviously appropriate under those circumstances.

What do you expect them to do to live out their fantasy?  Join the military?  They might get shot at! and would have stricter rules of engagement.

Decrim it all. The dickheads OD, the suppliers are out of a job, the crime rate is decimated, the casual users are happy and the rest of us stay above 99.9

It's sad that so many people lose their lives over .2 grams of weed residue. These people shouldn't be in the ground, they should be in for-profit prisons doing slave labor for .25 cents an hour while the warden pimps them out in order to make even more money.
Smoke a joint, spend 25 year in the joint, I say. That fact that we have all these people sitting at home, relaxing after their blue collar jobs by consuming a naturally growing plant just sickens me. They should be drinking a box of wine like the rest of us.

Hell, I bet 99% of these bong suckers also own a refrigerator.

So, if a state's liquer laws differ from federal law, you can tell the state trooper to politely go on his way when attempting to apply state law to you?

Good luck with that, kid!

The war on drugs is what gets those silly scared old people to vote for you.

To a politician, it's absolutely worth all the deaths, ruined lives and resources just to get to plunk your wrinkled, white butt down in that seat for another four years.

Politicians.  The source of all human misery.

Best data point from TFA was a quote from a Texas juror who acquitted a man for killing one of the cops storming his house:
"Why in the world would you do a full-out assault on a guy growing pot?"

It's the "canned hunt" method of law enforcement.

Want all the thrill of suiting up in SWAT gear with tanks and rocket launchers like you're going after a terrorist or mass shooter, but with none of the actual threat to yourself?  Well, now you can, thanks to Teens with Weed!  Now you, too, can apply excessive force and harsh punishments without having to worry that the person you're attacking is actually any danger to yourself or others.  Check out our other popular varieties such as Wearing a Headscarf or Driving While Black when you need to feel like a hero but don't want to go through the trouble of actually being one.
