Dammit, Subby. I thought he actually said/tweeted that.

FTA: At this time," Spicer said.

GFY, Spicer.

At this time.

FTA: "So is the President prepared to withdraw that accusation and apologize to the President?" Karl asked.
"No," Spicer responded. "We started a hearing. It's still ongoing. And then, as Chairman Nunes mentioned, this is one of a series of hearings that will be happening."

So he's going to continue to give the morons in the cheap seats a nail to hang their MAGA hats on in an attempt to distract from the very real scandal that the not so very real investigation is attempting to address?

/And somewhere off in Hell Roy Cohn did grin.

So the White House needs to distract for a bit longer... got it.

Or maybe--as hard to believe as it may be--Trump might be the kind of person who cannot admit that he made a mistake, or that he was flat out wrong.

Now the House and Senate needs to pass an official censure and call for Trump to cease all claims of this type. When he inevitably continues, this then becomes justification for his impeachment trial under the guise of perpetual false incrimination

He's not going to shut up. This sort of happy horse crap is exactly the sort of trash the brainless rubes of the rust belt and "Real America" eat up to keep their attention off of the fact that they're lazy little shiatbricks who can't be bothered to put some effort into learning modern skills like everyone else.

If he stops feeding them this steady line of crap, they'll realize they still don't have jobs, healthcare, or anything else while he and his buddies are stealing what paltry scraps they still have left. Then they'll chuck him in with all the other Rhinos and the retards will quintuple down next election, because god forbid these chuckleheads admit that the single biggest thing holding them back is themselves.

This process is going to continue unabated until either the sane people pay enough damn attention to start voting again or the hicks get to the point where one of the candidates they whoop and holler about literally stand up on Inauguration Day and tells them on live TV to go out in the streets and start shooting brown and gay people dead.

Real Americans are farking retards and Trump knows it and he's going to keep using it to his advantage until the gravy train runs out of tracks.

I have a hard time believing even Trump will be stupid enough to purge someone who has access to all the facts regarding his (Trump's) high treason and thus remove any incentive for said person to remain quiet.

After that, one offer of immunity and the dominoes start to fall until it all comes down like a house of cards and Trumpy is checkmated into a hangman's noose.

Why not?

Republicans took Benghazi, stretched dozens of investigations and committees over years, and road that horse into the White House on the votes of people who never bothered to look at the evidence.

Why would this be any different?  We're going to have investigations into Obama's wiretapping of Trump Tower until at least 2020, and the rubes will believe the entire time that the lack of evidence just means that there's that much more evidence.

I've got a coworker who swears the only reason Trump doesn't release his evidence and prove he's not a liar is because he's enjoying too much making the liberal media look like fools every time they ask for him to do so.

Why does asking the President to prove his accusation make the person asking look like a fool?  Because it farking does that's why - and after decades of playing their games, the drivebys deserve to have someone play it back to them.

Lost Thought 00: Now the House and Senate needs to pass an official censure and call for Trump to cease all claims of this type. When he inevitably continues, this then becomes justification for his impeachment trial under the guise of perpetual false incrimination

See now, I agree that there's grounds for impeachment on numerous counts, but there's something that occurred to me the other day that no one seems to have brought up elsewhere (not that I've seen anyway). Regardless of the reasoning behind it (their hand is utterly forced, they invoke the 25th amendment, etc.) I've come to the conclusion that it's just not going to happen barring any truly earth-shattering events (and damn do I hope that would only be metaphorically speaking).

Why no impeachment? Simple. It seems pretty clear at this point that Trump was, at the very least, aware of and complicit to the communication and possible collusion between his campaign and Russia. At bare minimum, he is most certainly aware that his administration has had many direct ties to the Russian government for many years and that there was communication during and after the election. Worst case scenario, he helped to orchestrate the whole mess (quick aside: yes, we know he's a dumbass, but we DO know he excels at looking out for himself, which is exactly what all this was, blackmail or no) and knows nearly all the dirt. So. Were he to be impeached, it would take a significant amount of backing by Republicans in congress. Trump is legendarily thin-skinned and responds in hyperbolic fashion to any perceived slight. If he were impeached and actually forced out of office?  There is not a doubt in my mind, with how truly petty and vindictive we know him to be, that he would go all scorched earth and take everyone down with him, lobbing a 10 ton molotov cocktail into the GOP. He obsesses over revenge and simply cannot keep his mouth shut. He's already a massive risk while in office, why the hell would they ever piss him off and cut him loose? It just won't happen.

tl;dr -- Republicans will never agree to impeach Trump because he's so obsessed with revenge and unable to keep his mouth shut that he'll take them all down with him.

As a news agency you have to ask yourself, at what point do you refuse to stop printing blatant lies when you know you help spread those lies and in the process lose a bit of your soul every time you do so.  The whole story could have been condensed to:

Bullshiat Spice gave a press conference today and lied his @ss off

It's that pale white thing laying on the ground over there looking like one of yesterdays Texas rolls.  Trump quintepled...sextupled...(not sure at this point) down as he tweeted more lies.  Later today, or maybe tomorrow since her legs fell asleep while kneeling on the Oval office couch, Kellyanne of Bowling Green Goebbels is expected to walk back, spin, deflect, obfuscate, project and basically lie her @ss off.  It's the flat lifeless one over there that looks like a soggy croissant.

And I doubt the Democrats are going to let up on him considering he just admitted today that the FBI was investigating both Clinton and Trump during the campaign but he only ever talked publicly about Clinton (three times no less), while staying silent on the Trump investigation for eight months.

No reason to do so to Obama. They will try and quietly make this go away.
