Little did Professor Hawking know, but Sir Richard's plan for him was to become the star of the Virgin Galactic's inflight Zero G human balloon toss game.

I would have thought he'd be a bit on the old and frail side to handle the boost. Hope I'm wrong, though.

Technically, that was a hologram of Hawking, not Hawking himself.

Oh man, poor guy  I bet he needs a team of Tibetan masseuses hired by Branson to work his unused muscles in zero G.

Technically, if you want to get technical, that was Stephen Hawking pretending to be a holographic representation of Stephen Hawking.

I hope he doesn't do it.  The risk of space flight asplodey is pretty high, and I'd rather he be around a bit longer to teach us a few more things.

If I get to choose how to kick the bucket, space flight asplodery is right at the top of the list

Liu Cixin has already sent him into space and it was not a mere suborbital flight.

Bonus: Liu did not destroy  or ravage the world in that story which is bit unusual for Mr. Liu.

/Oh wait, you want to send him into space for real...

We're coming up on ten years since they said flights would begin in 18 months.

Maybe they should send a sow up on the flrst launch, because of all the grumps like me saying that this will happen when pigs fly.

The only difference between this and sending a monkey into space is...

Hawking said "Fark yeah baby. Send me up there!"

If he wants to go..I hope he goes. He deserves to get his wish fulfilled. He's given humanity so much.
Despite his afflictions, he has worked for the betterment of the entire planet through basic science.

Hope they do it. Being in space worked out for Waldo Farthingwaite-Jones

Realistic headline:  Richard Branson offers Stephen Hawking a ride in his new airplane.

Just being sarcastic here.  This is very cool and I would do this in a heartbeat.
