I would pay dearly for a virtual assistant in the voice of The Hulk.

For example, the company says in a blog post, instead of taking "multiple steps to make a call - turning on and unlocking the phone, looking for the phone application, clicking on the contact bar to search for the person that you're trying to call and pressing the phone icon to start dialing - you will be able to do all these steps with one push of the Bixby button and a simple command."

So, exactly the same as Cortana then? In fact, I don't even need to push a button to wake up Cortana.

/Great for dictating text messages as well. Just say "Send text to Fred saying i'll be there in an hour" and she does it.
//Or you can say "Send a text to Fred" and she'll then ask you what you want to say.

The important thing is that Samsung, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and the CIA will all know everything that happens in every moment of your daily life.

Everything.

Ditto for Google. Don't have to push a button, just give it a voice command. In fact, it will do almost every task on the phone I ask it. Although my one annoyance seems to be asking it to play music. Instead of playing content from my phone, it searches the web and uses unnecessary data to play music.

I dunno about the others but Siri can gender swap. She can also do British or Australian accents for some reason. I use the male Aussie because I understand/hear it better for some reason.

IIRC, the Roddenberry family signed a deal a few months ago that will allow Majel Barrett Roddenberry's voice (Star Trek's Nurse Chapel, Mrs. Troi, and the Starfleet Computer voice) to be used as an AI voice.

I really love that Google's AI is stalking me. I love that it warns me in the morning about traffic on my drive to work, tells me when I have to leave for hockey games, lets me know when packages are arriving, and lets me know the score to the Wings game without me having to set any of that shiat up. It's nice that it gives me a quick alert when the weather where I am is crappy and can answer my questions with actual answers.

But yeah, it is kind of creepy that it does that by staking my GPS location, reading my email, tracking my browsing history, and whatever other thing that AI is listening to/reading/watching. But not creepy enough that it's not worth the benefits.

I just want a decent assistant app that will do what i want.  I was using Agent for years.  It knew when i was driving and I could tell it to shut off the phone and texts, but let certain contacts in, read the text or connect to Bluetooth automatically for hands free.  Based on my calendars, it knew when i was in meetings and not to be disturbed.  Set the hours for common times away, like sleeping, and it would silence and store the messages for me.
I can look up my own stuff thanks.
Agent crapped out finally and isn't supported anymore so i'm alone with my idiot smart phone again.

Again, Google can be set up with all the same features. Did they buy Agent? No snark, just sounds like typical tech behavior.

Right there with you.
I have some hearing loss (and tinnitus). I had trouble with the female voice on my gps. Changed it to male and British and I can understand it much better.

The only real issue I have with my Android phone in regards to voice control is music playback.  Especially with Google Play Music since it's the only music app that seems to have integration with voice control.  It's good at picking up artist but there is no option to default to local storage.  It always wants to stream.  What's worse is if I have the same song on my phone it will stream it first then play the local version.  To top it off it wants to play songs in alphabetical order which drives me insane, especially when using Android Auto.  There is no way around this issue that I know of.

It will have a dedicated button for it on their phones. I'm calling it now, this will be a complete failure. When you need to promote something so much that you're giving it its own buttons it probably sucks hard.

Cortana on a Windows phone or tablet can work locally, with no network, to do stuff like play music, open Word etc.
It can't set alarms, I guess because I have those synched to my calendar so they need the cloud.

I just asked Google when my Doctor's appointment is today. The event is in my Google calendar. Google's response was "no matching events." So, the personal assistant isn't ready for prime time.

I might start using voice interactions with my devices once we can give them some personality.

Me: "Mike, call Prof!"
AI: "Hey Man, what's the hoo hoo?"
Me: "Just place the call."
AI: "I've already placed the call, but he hasn't picked up.  Would you rather hear unanswered ringing?  Maybe I can make up a call tree for you to wander around in?"
Me: "No.  Just let him know I'm trying to reach him."  :/
