Expect a twitter rage storm from the Cheeto-in-chief tonight, unless someone takes his phone away.

Please let it not be "boxers of briefs?".

Oh, right. That. Bit of a relief I must say.

"no information"

Trump Chumps will hear that as "No information... YET..." in the classic Any. Day. Now. sense.

I have little to no confidence in Comey's ability to do his job here but hopefully other three letter agencies with their own resources will lean in at some point and make it clear to him that he can't just sweep this shiat under a rug.

FTA: "If the Trump campaign, or anybody associated with it, aided or abetted the Russians, it would not only be a serious crime, it would also represent one of the most shocking betrayals of our democracy in history," Schiff said in his opening remarks.

Ya think?

I keed. That's a good opener.

But Trump did it for a good reason.  19% ownership of Rosneft.  That's a lot of money to leave on the table.

I love Schiff's tweets to Trump.  Like an increasingly impatient teacher explaining the basics to a slow kid in remedial class.

It's a wholly appropriate tone to take with Trump.

Anything short of Putin and Trump engaged in intimate relations is going to swept under the rug.  Or at least mostly.  The truth will be out there and Congress won't do fark all

Better return than the traditional 30 pieces of silver, I guess.

This Congress may well be able to be goaded into doing the right thing despite themselves if enough material gets leaked to the public.

They won't want to but if it comes down to sinking Trump in order to save their own worthless hides enough of the rats will abandon ship.

President Pence, of course, comes with his own concerns.

If I remember correctly (and I didn't read the dossier directly, just read reporting on it) the 19% ownership of Rosneft was offered to one of Trump's aides, not Trump himself.  If you're right though . . .

I mean, we've been arguing about if hotel stays at Trump hotels would be a violation of the emoluments clause, but if Trump was handed a 1/5 of Rosneft, that would be a foreign government directly handing tens of billions of dollars to a U.S. president.

It would be the single clearest case of a constitutional violation ever.  I doubt that many Republicans could even defend it.

That weaselling is really irritating.  But look at the bright side -- he's confirmed that the investigations into Trump and Russia are still open and ongoing.

2017-03-20 02:49:13 PM
Well, of course the FBI has no record of "wiretapping" Trump tower. The Brits did it.

So if Russia did start a cyberwar with the US and helped Trump win, and it is proven- and he is ousted- what do we do with Russia?

Sanction, seize oligarch bank accounts, deploy troops to Eastern Europe and hold on. Provide weapon systems to Ukraine and offer NATO/UN intervention to retake Crimea.

2017-03-20 02:55:37 PM
Interesting that Comey just confirmed that both Democratic and Republican organizations were hacked, but there has been (so far) no release of Republican information. This contradicts the narrative from the Trumpers that the hacking of the GOP was unsuccessful.

What do you do if Russia threatens nuclear war?

What do you do if Russia deploys small battlefield nukes in Ukraine?

I'm so excited for this totally nonpartisan, unbiased investigation, brought to you by the guy that influenced the election, with a guy who has recused himself from such matters, where all the evidence will end up in the hands of people who have zero interest in truth and facts.

Tell ya what Republicans, if half of the time and money spent investigating Benghazi is put towards this one I might believe the results. Then again, I think I'll act like you did instead.

quatchi: Trump Chumps will hear that as "No information... YET..."

Which is exactly why we need more investigation!
And let's be clear, they will find that information.  The first sentence was snark, this second one is serious.  "Obama ordered a wiretap of Trump" is currently being walked back out to "Obama has surveillance on someone affiliated with the Trump campaign."  Naturally those two things mean the same thing, alternative facts you know.  So when it turns out the CIA has been monitoring a Russian intel officer and they have a picture of that guy eating lunch in a street cafe where you can see a Trump staffer in the background, that's proof Obama wiretapped Trump and Trump is vindicated.

We have them too.  But you start firing off nukes- which they won't because running oil through an irradiated area is a bad idea.

They fire a nuke, NATO responds.  Whether it is proportional or something more waits to be seen.

We know Russia will invade sovereign nations. Unchecked aggression is not good for the world. They touch NATO, we respond. Period.

Also, look at the way the wind blows

It doesn't matter.

It's not like anyone in this shiat-show is truly being held accountable up to now.  There have been no real consequences.  Why should this matter.
