So...  Is this how sub-Farks get started?  Starting new threads about details being discussed in other threads in real-time?

Not that anything will change anything. Americans are too stupid and afraid to use emergency procedures. Just suffer through it, it's always someone else's responsibility, someone else will come along and fix it, we're sure.

I think we need some more hearings into Russia-ghazi. Then I think we need some more hearings to delve into the hearings of Russia-ghazi. Then we need an investigative panel into Russia-ghazi. After that we can hold another set of hearings about the hearings and investigative panel in Russia-ghazi. It should only take a few years, unless we still have questions.

I've been busy this morning...did Comey throw Trump under the bus or merely artfully evade?

Inquiring minds want to know...

It's a meta repeat. It also saves people from trying to catch up on threads that are growing faster than you can read them.

But lets just say I have popcorn ready. Lets see how this goes.

Better than a 1K post thread where few voices are heard.

Gowdy is such a putz.  Listening to this whole hearing and it's clear the Republicans are vastly more interested in finding and prosecuting leakers than in the results of any investigation about what foreign powers might actually be doing to hurt the US.

More important than any of that though:  I'm listening to the stream - Which committee member is it (not Nunes, Gowdy or Schiff), who sounds like Gary Shandling's character from the MCU?  Every time he asks questions all I hear is the hearing from Iron Man 2 and I keep expecting to hear "Hail Hydra".

As of a few minutes ago he testified with this statement in front of the intelligence committee.

"I have no information that supports those tweets." FBI director James Comey

Gave the exact answer that any conspiracy-theory-minded individual would latch onto:  "We have no information that any of that was true."

Any reasonable person will interpret this as confirmation that Trump is making shiat up.  Unreasonable people will interpret this as "Well, they just don't know about it. Trump knows something they don't."

Oooh, Conaway sounds like he's trying to nail down Comey on why he was so un-willing to form any conclusions on Trump while being so forthcoming with issues on Clinton.

Comey is investigating Russia in case they have any more Hillary emails that they haven't already given to Assange to leak.

2017-03-20 12:07:30 PM
Leaking was all fun and games when it was the Democrats that were getting their info leaked.  What changed all of a sudden?

2017-03-20 12:09:25 PM
Remember Comey was investigating Trump & Russia but still felt it necessary to insist there was smoke regarding Hillary's new emails when in fact there was no fire.

Trump said even before the election that the US intelligence community couldn't be trusted and that he had better sources anyway.

We just hadn't realized yet that those sources were Russia and Infowars.

I think the question we have to ask is "what did Obama know and when did he know it?". I'm going to ask my dog because that's as farking sane as the "b-b-ut Obama" bullshiat the GOP vermin are throwing out there.

2017-03-20 12:16:05 PM
Comey:  The FBI is investigating whether the sitting Administration colluded with a hostile foreign government to tamper with the election.   It's fairly obvious that their autocratic leader strongly favored Trump (who just so happened to fill his entire cabinet with people who he's friendly with).  Oh yeah, the President's claim that the previous president wiretapped him is a blatant, bald faced lie.

GOP:  Okay ....but ...... but those leaks, tho.

2017-03-20 12:20:25 PM
CLEARLY...we need another investigation into Hillary Clinton's involvement in this.

2017-03-20 12:23:00 PM
You might want to sit down for this, but Trump is having a complete meltdown on Twitter about this.

2017-03-20 12:26:34 PM
So, about what we could expect from the intelligence community, they pretty much told us nothing.  Even with the wiretapping query, Comey was very careful to couch it in the very specific terms of "Did Obama order a wiretap" and of course he didn't, but at least from what I have read, the question of did someone from justice (not Obama himself), request a warrant to surveil Trump?    Perhaps someone who has read the whole transcript can weigh in.

Trump said even before the election that the US intelligence community couldn't be trusted and that he had better sources anyway.

We just hadn't realized yet that those sources were Russia and Infowars.

Step 1: Russia has Russia Today broadcast something
Step 2: InfoWars or some similar loons repeat this information
Step 3: Breitbart repeats it
Step 4: FoxNews repeats it
Step 5: Donald Trump repeats it
Step 6: Journalists and the public ask him for proof
Step 7: Donald Trump uses Fox News as proof, or simply says, "people are saying..."

Repeat for ever and ever.

Now, during the campaign there were times when Roger Stone stated things that were then released by WikiLeaks.  Some of what Stone said was repeated by Trump.

For those interested in Roger Stone's light treason, this is a good summation, though it is, sadly, via tweets.

If only there were some way for the president to talk to the federal agency in charge of most wiretapping, and ask if any wiretaps were issued.  Until a president can just call the FBI director and ask him a simple question, we're stuck with the system we have, I'm afraid.

Why would the FBI be privy to something the British secretly did for Obama?

nothing is going to come of this. they can't risk the ramifications of incriminating Trump, which is why the GOP is going to run interference and protect him however they can. If they thought they could just kick him to the curb and put Pence in his place w/o huge political consequences for them it would have happened already.
No, they fear reprisal and possibly Putin who might have hacked them and have dirt on them too.

Kenya was a British Colony until after Obama was born, so that could be strong connection between the two. Of course, your question was who leaked it to the FBI? Probably Assange.

Not to get too speculative, but the Trump-out Pence-in (Pence-il in?) maneuver can still happen. I am still rating this as Trump is still too useful and convenient to throw out yet. Passing the ACHA, the Great Rich People Tax Giveaway of 2017, and quietly killing the wall in committee are still on the GOP's agenda. If any of those fall apart, start to look for the GOP to practice their court snub faces.

59 days into his presidency; record low popularity and now an FBI investigation into his Russian ties.  Running like a well oiled machine indeed.

There was an episode of south park that recently came to mind. Cartman gets a million dollars and buys a theme park and Kyle gets hemorrhoids and looses faith in God. He just keeps saying "why God, with all the terrible things going on in the world do you choose to give Cartman of all people a million dollars"  At the end Cartman looses the park and he learns the worst punishment to a horrible person is to have everything he ever wanted, and have it taken away from them. But I'm sure there is no similarities between Cartman and Trump....

Watergate took a lot longer than people assumed it did. It wasn't just a matter of the accusation being made and Nixon was on the copter giving the "v" sign.

Don't forget that there was a tax scandal right in the middle of it all with the VP resigning and Nixon claiming to not be a crooked tax cheat.  Nixon wasn't undone by just one thing.

Meanwhile, Trump's supporters can be distracted by 2 meaningless pages of a form 1040 from back in 2005.
