I'm not a big conspiracy guy but that's only the results that we were shown IMO.  My dad is a heavy anti-drug person(aside from occasional pot) and a staunch supporter of "Building that Wall" etc etc.  But I remember one conversation about when he was experimenting with acid when, as a kid(20-21y/o) he noted a remarkable shift in perception.  He was already good at pool and basketball, but said that a day after dropping he would absolutely slaughter people on the court and on the table.  But he didn't like the way he felt for the next couple of weeks.  I myself have noticed a shift in perception, but nothing like "super human" type of shiat just a different way of seeing and approaching various situations.  I am sure that with the right dosage and conditioning, there can be something of use to be found.

People tend to forget that, during the same period of time, the US was beginning to experiment with drugs on it's own soldiers for similar reasons. When the nuclear age began, they experimented with radiation. When the cold war got going, they secretly spread airborne infectants across American cities to discover how they would spread, knowledge they would use to prepare biological weapons.

There have been reports of the CIA using various drugs in espionage that are not available to or have been banned from public use.

The concept of the 'super soldier' is an old one. The use of assorted drugs in attempts to make these 'super soldiers' has a long history.

The only thing that is remarkable about the article is that the Physician apparently experimented on one of the most deadly, erratic man of power in history. Being a physician, he would have seen the accumulating effects of the many drugs Hitler used, both physically and mentally.

Then again, maybe we owe him a debt. If he had not kept pumping Hitler full of drugs, Hitler might not have begun to deteriorate both mentally and physically. Imagine how much longer the war would have lasted had he remained alert and healthy.

Wikipedia's had a good article on this for a while:

In an effort to make its front-line soldiers and fighter pilots fight longer, harder, and with less concern for individual safety, the German army ordered them to take military-issue pills made from methamphetamine and a primarily cocaine-based stimulant. After Pervitin, a methamphetamine drug newly developed by the Berlin-based Temmler pharmaceutical company, first entered the civilian market in 1938, it quickly became a top seller among the German population. The drug was brought to the attention of Otto Friedrich Ranke, a military doctor and director of the Institute for General and Defense Physiology at Berlin's Academy of Military Medicine.[3] The effects of amphetamines are similar to those of the adrenaline produced by the body, triggering a heightened state of alertness. In most people, the substance increases self-confidence, concentration, and willingness to take risks while at the same time reducing sensitivity to pain, hunger, and the need for sleep. In September 1939, Ranke tested the drug on 90 university students and concluded that Pervitin could help the Wehrmacht win the war. Cocaine, whose effects substantially overlap with those of amphetamine but feature greater euphoria, was later added to the formulation to increase its potency through the multiplicative effects of drug interaction and to reinforce its use by individuals.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drug_policy_of_Nazi_Germany

The Pervitin mentioned above is basically a form of crystal meth.

Acid?

Because there are some websites where people with major depressive disorders have begun experimenting with very low doses of LSD, administered regularly and have reported positive effects that the normal anti-depressives and anti-psychotics could not give them. The stuff seems to be working and dragging people up out of the dark, gray gloom of serious depressive disorders.

To my knowledge, since LSD is profoundly illegal and researchers find it nearly impossible to get legally, these sites are from regular people, who buy their LSD from dealers and are self experimenting.

I can understand that. Major Depressive Disorders can make a sufferers life a living hell and tear up a family. Some are even turning to the long discarded electro shock therapy to try and get relief because we know the treatment jumbles up the brain for a period of time.

German soldiers were issued pervitin (methamphetamine) tablets during the Battle of the Bulge and other offenses. I bet they had a serious addiction issue as a result but in the short term it probably helped in offensives that their soldiers were so buzzed they could go longer without rest.

Clearly the idea was attractive to other armies because they all played around with them too.

Pilots everywhere in WWII received Meth and Coke.  It's no mystery.  This wasn't some Nazi Super Serum.  Everybody used them.  Our pilots were given super secret Vitamin A to help their night vision.  (No, they weren't, but it was a great cover for modern radar systems that the Nazis knew nothing about.)

He killed Hitler.

Yes, but Hitler also killed the guy who killed Hitler, so that kind of evens out.

CptnSpldng: CygnusDarius: BigSlowTarget: You put someone on meth, coke and steroids and they aren't likely to make it out of the harbor let alone all the way to England.

Also, imagine a squad of coked-up junkies inside a sub.

Also...

Nothing like a serious drug collection... in German.

Sometimes I wonder just how many of the plots to kill Hitler were foiled by Allied spies?

Seriously, think about it.  You bump him off and now what?  Rommel gets put in charge?  Egads, the Allies would have been farked if that ever happened.   But every military decision Hitler made was terrible.  Any time one his smart generals came up with a smart idea, Hitler pooped on it and made them do something stupid instead.  Thus, it was actually to the Allies' advantage to keep Hitler alive until the very end.

Adderall is rx meth.

Nope. Wrong.
Adderall is dextro-amphetamine. Very different pharmacokinetics.

Adderall is rx meth.

Adderall is dextroamphetamine, not methamphetamine. People don't get high on the former; it's used mainly as a stimulant.

I meant "meth" not meth. And you had to get all technically correct...

Don't people snort it to get high? Nature finds a way.

Made me feel a little speedy in just the prescription dosage.

I remember, when I was little, the other snipes and me thinking that "High Hitler" or "Hi, Hitler!" was the actual thing.
