Check out the "Drugs administered to Hitler" section of this article about his personal doctor, Theodor Morell:

Everyone around Hitler thought this dude was a quack who was just keeper Der Fuhrer all hepped up on goofballs, but how exactly do you deny a guy who can have you killed at any time his Dr. Feelgood?

Please, enough meth, coke and steroids and they won't need the submarine. Joint point them in the right direction and set them off. I mean, I always suspected the Nazis had something to do with Florida Man. I guess this confirms it.

I'm not a big conspiracy guy but that's only the results that we were shown IMO.  My dad is a heavy anti-drug person(aside from occasional pot) and a staunch supporter of "Building that Wall" etc etc.  But I remember one conversation about when he was experimenting with acid when, as a kid(20-21y/o) he noted a remarkable shift in perception.  He was already good at pool and basketball, but said that a day after dropping he would absolutely slaughter people on the court and on the table.  But he didn't like the way he felt for the next couple of weeks.  I myself have noticed a shift in perception, but nothing like "super human" type of shiat just a different way of seeing and approaching various situations.  I am sure that with the right dosage and conditioning, there can be something of use to be found.

People tend to forget that, during the same period of time, the US was beginning to experiment with drugs on it's own soldiers for similar reasons. When the nuclear age began, they experimented with radiation. When the cold war got going, they secretly spread airborne infectants across American cities to discover how they would spread, knowledge they would use to prepare biological weapons.

There have been reports of the CIA using various drugs in espionage that are not available to or have been banned from public use.

The concept of the 'super soldier' is an old one. The use of assorted drugs in attempts to make these 'super soldiers' has a long history.

The only thing that is remarkable about the article is that the Physician apparently experimented on one of the most deadly, erratic man of power in history. Being a physician, he would have seen the accumulating effects of the many drugs Hitler used, both physically and mentally.

Then again, maybe we owe him a debt. If he had not kept pumping Hitler full of drugs, Hitler might not have begun to deteriorate both mentally and physically. Imagine how much longer the war would have lasted had he remained alert and healthy.

Wikipedia's had a good article on this for a while:

In an effort to make its front-line soldiers and fighter pilots fight longer, harder, and with less concern for individual safety, the German army ordered them to take military-issue pills made from methamphetamine and a primarily cocaine-based stimulant. After Pervitin, a methamphetamine drug newly developed by the Berlin-based Temmler pharmaceutical company, first entered the civilian market in 1938, it quickly became a top seller among the German population. The drug was brought to the attention of Otto Friedrich Ranke, a military doctor and director of the Institute for General and Defense Physiology at Berlin's Academy of Military Medicine.[3] The effects of amphetamines are similar to those of the adrenaline produced by the body, triggering a heightened state of alertness. In most people, the substance increases self-confidence, concentration, and willingness to take risks while at the same time reducing sensitivity to pain, hunger, and the need for sleep. In September 1939, Ranke tested the drug on 90 university students and concluded that Pervitin could help the Wehrmacht win the war. Cocaine, whose effects substantially overlap with those of amphetamine but feature greater euphoria, was later added to the formulation to increase its potency through the multiplicative effects of drug interaction and to reinforce its use by individuals.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drug_policy_of_Nazi_Germany

The Pervitin mentioned above is basically a form of crystal meth.

There was suspicion that the Fort Bragg murders were caused by amphetamines throwing off brain chemistry, that or the anti-malarial drugs. Jury is still out.

Meth, cocaine and lifestock steroids.

This cocktail is now called Saturday Night in Hull.

I just picked Hull because it was the first place that came to mind. It is a coastal town in Yorkshire. But any UK city would be just as accurate, but perhaps not as funny.

Quick poll:

Which UK city is funnier as a drug reference?

a) Hull
b) Leeds
c) Glasgow
d) Hammersmith
e) Shillington, formerly shiattington

Adderall is dextroamphetamine, not methamphetamine. People don't get high on the former; it's used mainly as a stimulant.

It's been going on a lot longer than that. A Wikipedia search shows that their use was widespread and prevalent enough to be studied as early as 1995:
