Obama watched an episode of Celebrity Apprentice once. That's kind of like spying on Trump, right?

There is no reason to repeat Trump's accusations except maybe to laugh at them move on. The story shouldn't have lasted more than six hours.

I disagree. It's an extraordinary allegation and it can't be left hanging. The media aren't unnecessarily dignifying him; they're holding his feet to the fire. And it's very much part of Trump's strategy to expect the national attention span to expire at the end of the news cycle or whenever he tweets something even more outrageous, whichever comes first. Keep pursuing it, media.

Then again, they also reported no evidence of the NSA spying on Americans either. And Clapper sat there and lied to Congress about it.

But oh, hey, more about Russia! Look! Russia meddled in the election! "the Russian government directed the DNC hack in an attempt to influence the outcome of November's presidential election."
All they did was expose what a corrupt bunch of crooks the whole DNC is.

There`s every reason to focus on the story because it demonstrates a remarkable lack of judgement by someone in Trump`s position. It original tweet itself was stupid enough but then it was compounded by dragging the United Kingdom into it. When your president is doing something stupid it`s the press`s job to draw attention to it.

Notice how all the discussion and denials are about "bugging the Trump Tower", like its still the 1970's and you have to sneak in an connect a bug up to some wires in the basement or out on the poll on the street.

What they totally ignore is that you don't bug any single building anymore.  Everything is recorded and tracked 24/7 at the phone company central office right off their network and can be accessed by anyone, from anyplace in the world via network access.

From what Snowden revealed, all of Manhattan is recorded and mined 24/7 and all someone has to do is run a query against the database and listen to whatever they want from any conversation at anytime in the present or past.

Pay close attention and notice all the denials use the key phrase "the trump tower".

This.
The whole thing was an obvious distraction to keep media outlets busy, and suck up news time.

And when this one goes away, Trump will make yet another accusation that everyone will be consumed with debunking.

On another note...  This is a person that actively called upon the "leakers" of the world to spy, hack, and grab as much information as possible, so that he could enthusiastically use that information against his opponents.  Evidently, it's okay to do this when it's not HIM being bugged.

The DNC never denied the accuracy of the posted emails.

Obama was wiretap-happy, that he didn't go through the formalities to document a wiretap, is no surprise.  The New York Times ran a front page piece on January 20th stating, "Wiretapped Data used in Investigation of Trump Aides".

Why is the left acting like this is a huge surprise statement from Trump?  It was in the paper first.

This is the brilliance of it all. It's wasn't Intel. It wasn't even and. It was Microsoft.

And they didn't bug the pics, oh no. They just send a bunch of free xboxes and then gave out the backdoors to get into them. So they could watch everyone in Trump towers whenever they played video games.

Turns out Trump is a terrible counter strike player, but he likes kinnex golf.

I really don't know how to put it any plainer: the President doesn't have the ability to authorize wire taps.  What you are implying in your statement is a Watergate level conspiracy and it's silly.  That doesn't clear other people in the government going rogue, but what you are attempting is to make make Obama a bogeyman again.

I got a chuckle out of Rooney pounding away at the leakers under Section 702 when the Admiral felt the need to clarify without being asked that it applies only to foreign intelligence collection.  That tosses a hot potato to the FBI as a possible source for the information under a criminal warrant.

Begun, the bureaucratic wars have.

A president accusing a predessor of a Watergate type offense?  And actually using the word "watergate"?  Being the US president means that people are watching you, and paying attention.  Friviolous BS has consequences, and this administration needs to learn that.  A good nose rubbing is well in order here.

It would be fun to see Obama drag Trump into court (much like Trump would have done if the shoe was on the other foot) but Dems can't bring themselves to behave like the GOP. Non-stop hearings, beating that dead horse in the media, hypocrisy and going after the other side for shiat that just doesn't matter
