Considering Russia has been controlled by the communists for the last 100 years and by the Czars before that, I don't think Russia has ever had any democracy.

That is a brave, brave man.

Thank God we don't have to worry about that. Our President will NEVER oppose Putin.

Reading the Wikipedia page about this stuff.

The main advantage of Brilliant Green over the more common antiseptics such as iodine is that it does not irritate mucous membranes as harshly on accidental contact

Hmmm, okay. Not so ba.....

Brilliant green induces vomiting when swallowed and is toxic when ingested.[3] The compound may lead to serious injuries if it comes to contact with the eye, even result in bilateral blindness due to corneal opacification

Ahhh, I see. For now.

I'm glad he didn't get the 'Malaysian LOL' treatment.  Barring his attacker being a genuine independent Putin fanatic, this was either a warning or an effort to make him look foolish.  Maybe both.

Some election in the Yeltsin period might have been pretty free?

Nice hint - "hey, we just watched as a North Korean bigwig was assassinated by having crap sprayed in his face by a total stranger for a 'game show' - next time, it won't be green dye, there, bucko..."

This is a "back off or we'll kill you" hint.

Polonium infused green dye?

Good thing he didn't get the full Kim Jong Nam.

He was referring to the Hollywood film that features a superhero who wears a green mask.

I love when they clarify the references they make.

Yeah, but many of the changes Yeltsin did were a little too friendly for the oligarchy, eventually allowing the Putin kleptocracy to come to power. Capitalism is good when regulated to make sure it's not going to descend into laissez-faire, otherwise greed takes hold and you have workers with little rights and a small grouping of people with most of the power in the society simply because they're wealthy... and I believe this is what is happening in the United States now under Trump if he gets everything he wants out of this presidency.

This story is bullshiat.  Look at how evenly and consistently it covers his face, making a nice arc across his neck (high above the collar line), evenly coating the inside of his ear, but getting lighter just next to his eyes.  The guy in the picture did NOT get doused or sprayed, he carefully applied whatever that is by hand.

If it is a false flag to make Putin look bad, then I am ok with that. You aren't going to win against Putin by playing nice.

Consider that he was wearing a collared shirt and possibly a jacket (Siberia in March?), and that when something splashes you in the face you typically try to clear your eyesight first.

Well, if it was I'd be worried as Vlad doesn't have any more compunction than Kim about killing opponents. M

A brave guy to oppose the kleptocrat, and former KGB officer, who will kill people when he's afraid.

TFA says he tried to remove the dye with solvent but it just made it more even.

Well either way if someone did spray him in the face with something I would have immediately panic vomited.

You know because the Best Koreans just assassinated Kim Jong Nam with a slap in the face with VX NERVE TOXIN.   Kinda not a funny prank when another prominent person in opposition to an autocrat is murdered in a similar manner.
