Amazing what video of an animal with very little of anything to provide perspective can do for making it look huge.  Is that a chicken coop it's coming out of OR  A HUMAN HOUSE!!!  Is the second chicken actually a really big normal rooster?

At least we have a giant Corgi to fight it when it attacks our otherwise defenseless cities:

I saw this at the matinee for $1 back in 1974.  I was 10 years old at the time, and I had no idea what an orgasm-a-tron might be used for, but I thought the giant chicken was funny.

never really gave much thought to it but it makes sense that it would take a larger breed of chickens to lay extra large eggs, which were pretty much the only kind my mom used to buy.

Looked it up, Brahmas are considered excellent winter layers of large brown eggs.  And yes, the roosters have feathery feet like that.  Normally 12 lbs for roosters and 10 lbs for hens.  That may be a Shaq of a Brahma rooster.

This, I'm so sick of clicking on articles only to find its a recap of twitter threads.  With quoting, and then a screenshot of the quote they quoted.

That, and as mentioned before there is no perspective.  The closest thing I saw to compare it to was the food tray which I initally thought was a 2 liter bottle, but now think it is a 1 liter which makes the chicken big, but not the largest I've seen.   I've seen a man eating chicken that was well over 200lbs.

I recently started gaining perspective on this.

The local grocery chain has started carrying local chickens at some of its locations; they are in the meat locker next to the other fresh meats instead of being shrink-wrapped like a Tyson.

They're about half the size (3 lb vs 5 or 6lb), but they're easier to work with.  They don't have the layer of subcutaneous fat that industrial chickens do, and the skin is thinner and easier to partially release from the meat.
They cook cleaner and more consistently, take a brine better, and all around are just a better product.

To top it off, they're only 10 cents more per pound, but you aren't paying for the water the shrrink wrapped chickens are packed in, and you're not paying for the neck and gibblet pack.

Put me squarely in "Team 1978 Chicken".

When I saw this last week, I immediately asked how anyone could tell how big it is. There's nothing in the video by which one can judge its size. So why does anyone give a shiat?
