How else are we going to properly establish that he's a damaged human being?

Ya know, still saying that there's very little Deathstroke could do in armor that looks as bulky as the stuff he's been seen wearing in the movie... Christ from a distance I thought they somehow got Iron Man in the movie.

I can't help but wonder how a story about a mentally unstable billionaire who does whatever the fark he wants in order to defeat whoever he thinks is a problem, law and order be damned, is going to play today. Even watching CA:Civil War again post 2016 has a different feel to it.

I am sorry, but I am just having a difficult time getting excited about Batman. There have been too many movies with too many directors with too many different actors and too many visions and way too many origin stories. I think I am just burned out on the Caped Crusader.

Have they explained who is funding his operation lately?  He hasn't had money since, what, season 2?
And Felicity got the boot from Palmer LAST year.
And Ray is "dead".

So seriously, who is paying for everything?

And why did we lose Arsenal, Speedy and Black Canary for Wild Dog, Mr. Terrific and Robes (who is now ALSO gone?!?!)

DC has so many great characters. Thousands of them! Yet it's always Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, and Green Lantern who get the main attention from WB.

WHY DON'T THEY DO SOMEONE ELSE?

How about a tongue-in-cheek Plastic Man movie? A campy Captain Marvel Shazam movie complete with evil worm and talking tiger? Why not a Metal Men movie? Hell, I think at this point a movie about G'nort would be better than what Snyder's crapping out over and over.

Why not skip the Big Three (plus their closest friends) and go for a Legion of Superheroes franchise instead. Get the hell out of the 21st century and have a ball going wild.

At least the TV shows are drawing from the comics and getting some fun, crazy DC characters in there. WB would never have the balls to give us Grodd or King Shark in a movie. Hell, when they had the opportunity to give us Killer Croc, we got a watered-down, small, basically boring "re-interpretation" of him.

WB is blowing it. They have to know this.

Near as I understand it, it's a combination of Felicity also inheriting Ray's personal  fortune as well as his business (which she lost, but that didn't touch her personal assets), and Oliver's apparently amazing income as Mayor.

And why did we lose Arsenal, Speedy and Black Canary for Wild Dog, Mr. Terrific and Robes (who is now ALSO gone?!?!)

1. It's Ragman, not Robes. And Ragman is a cool character from the books that I was happy to see.

2. The reason is because they've turned Oliver into the Arrowverse's version of Batman, and they wanted to assemble a team of Outsiders (it's the name of an actual superhero team in the comics) for this "Batman" to counter the fact that they can't do the Justice League, ever.

3. Also, the actors for the other characters had other things to do.

Ugh... The italics dropped out of the previous post. Consider everything before "Near as I understand..." a quote from buntz.

DC has never known how to do Plastic Man.

He's Bob Newhart with superpowers. The straight man in an insane world. He is not a stretchy Jim Carey.

Tim Burton's Batman was flawed but good, but seemed great because the genre barely existed. What love we had for Superman died by the time Superman IV rolled around. The sequel was not as good and didn't have novelty to elevate it. It went downhill from there.

Batman Begins was well executed, and low expectations again made it seem even better. In a post MCU world, it's not as impressive as it was.

The Dark Knight was even better executed, and Heath Ledger just took that film over the moon. Damn near perfect movie experience. Subsequent sequels and tie-ins aren't that exciting.

What I'm saying is, while others range from execrable to entertaining, there has only ever been one great Batman movie that holds up to repeat viewings, and Heath Ledger is dead. Looking at the stats, the appropriate expectations for a new Batman movie is "Meh".

Dead Heath Ledger is the only reason people fawn over that movie.

He lives, people don't fellate it as much, and he stars in Suicide Squad and kills what goodwill he had left.
