Three card Monty begins with showing the ball. This con does not even show part 2 or 3 just vague promises. It is already legal under federal law to sell health insurance across state lines, state insurance regulations is what limits it.

Between the $54B increase for defense, $1T in infrastructure projects, and taxes being cut across the board, somehow I highly doubt Trump will get universal healthcare even in committee before he is ousted.

I blame the accounting trick of classifying debt as an asset and deficit spending just to make it difficult for the successor.

They're going to screw people over, and people are going to know they're being screwed over, why bother even lying?  You aren't fooling anyone at this point, except maybe yourself.

The infrastructure plan was a $90 (or something) tax cut for contractors, followed by aggressive privatization of public infrastructure.  Our new overlords would then spend $1T on upgrades.

This is my issue they keep saying access. I have access to buying  50 million dollar beach front home. The means however that's where the plan goes sideways.

"Don't worry, we're totally going to let them sell policies across state lines so they can all go to the states with the fewest safeguards and we'll remove regulations that prevent them from selling you policies that cost $100/month but cover exactly nothing. Fortunately, you'll have a nice, fat health savings account to make up the difference and tax credits at the end of the year if you manage to survive."

Sad, but true. This also makes the resurgence of American nationalism a bit ironic.

Stupid and proud of it! Don't let those dirty intellectuals talk down to you about climate change. Don't talk about the changing economy away from coal and steel. Why bother making incremental changes to government to render any semblance of stability?  The reality that we're likely never going to hit 3% GDP growth again, that ballgame belongs to developing nations and those that rig their currencies. Why would we want regulation of the environment or medicines? Bring on the rivers of fire, cancer clusters (from ground water spills) and smog like it's 1920! Revel in the deformities and death from rushed approvals and lack of FDA oversight, buyer beware, but why bother making sure snake oil isn't being sold as medicine?

"Every American will have access to the kind of coverage that they want."

Again with the 'access' bullshiat.  Are people really falling for this?

I have 'access' to a Porsche.  There's a dealership just a hour's drive away.  That and about a 500% raise would actually let me make the payments on one.

The American Medical Association has voiced their full support of him. I had the "privilege" of hearing the head of the AMA give a talk recently during which he stated that they've been bombarded with hate mail from doctors who are outraged at the organization's support of Tom Price. He then joked that most of the mail wasn't from dues paying members, so it didn't matter, and they'd continue to endorse him. Some real pieces of shiat out there...

The same AMA that supports Tom Price as HHS secretary also says that Trumpcare is critically flawed.  You'd think that if anyone knew the number of a good psychiatrist who could treat cognitive dissonance that they'd be the one.  But I suppose not.

I pay approximately $1K per month for medical and dental insurance for myself, my wife and son.  And this is i Massachusetts where the market is healthy and there is plenty of choice.  Yes, I could pay more for insurance but every dollar that goes to it is one less for life, saving for college and retirement.  We are still relatively young (48) so I accept the risks of a higher deductible.

Yesterday, my wife twisted her leg on some ice and was in a lot of pain.  As a precaution, I took her to the ER as I was concerned about a serious hamstring injury.  The visit cost $700 but was a mere $560 dollars if I paid immediately.  Which I did, because I could.

It's profoundly insulting to me that ANYTHING which takes 1,000 dollars out of my pocket every single month STILL ends up costing a shiatload of financial outlay the minute I have the temerity to actually use it.  And my situation is optimal.  I'm fortunate to be able to afford it and mostly just grumble.

For which the majority of money would be pocketed and only bare bones improvements that generate maximum profit would be done.  Anything else that needs doing would be ignored outright because any deaths or injuries from failed roads or bridges would merely end up in binding arbitration rather than a class action suit like it should be.

The AMA is why we don't have Single Payer.

In the late 1940's, President Truman proposed a national healthcare system for the US, it would have been essentially what we call "single payer" now.

Everyone in the US could pay a standard, low and affordable price to optionally buy health insurance.  If you had this insurance, every hospital and public medical practice in the US would be required to accept it, and it would cover ALL your medical expenses (and also function as long-term disability insurance).  You paid a token optional monthly or annual fee, and in exchange you pay NOTHING for any medical expenses otherwise, it's all government covered.

. . .the AMA shiat a brick at this, and promptly went on a full propaganda blitz against "socialized medicine" complete with fake quotes attributed to Marx and Lenin talking about how "socialized medicine" is the first step towards communism, with posters and pamphlets sent to Dr's offices around the country, and Americans getting word from their doctors about how Truman's healthcare bill would put American on the road to communism and put the government between them and their doctors.

Healthcare reform was killed by the AMA.  What came out of that push for healthcare reform, with AMA blessing, was an IRS rule that let employers deduct the cost of health insurance from taxes, which was an incentive for employers to offer it as a benefit.

Our deeply defective system of employment-based health insurance was the AMA-backed alternative to Single Payer.

Remember, the AMA looks out for Doctors and their profits. . .not the American people and their health, they always have, and always will.

Let's not pretend that $1T is actually for infrastructure.  Its tax breaks and other sleight of hand for cronies and companies to launder.  See: plot of first Jack Reacher movie.

"Trust us" says the administration which has been lying and making up bullshiat on a literal daily basis. I mean we just spent like 2 weeks dealing with the POTUS just making up some bullshiat out of thin air about a political opponent.

Why should we trust an administration whose actions have proven they're utterly untrustworthy?

Everyone, I have been doing some serious research into this SE Cupp business. Google is now telling me the woman in the R2D2 dress above is Meg Turney. Google is also telling me she likes to have her picture taken in her underwear.

Now, if you'll excuse me, my research isn't complete. I must get to the bottom of this!
