Baldwin's Trump is great, but I can see why he's getting tired of it. It's damn near impossible to play Trump dumber than Trump really is IRL.

Melissa McCarthy's Spicer, on the other hand, will never get old.

But...but...Obummer is the anti-christ! He destroyed America and ruined the economy. Ruined I tell you! All those wars he got us into. There has never been a more terrible President than Obummer. Why, he even tried to bankrupt America by making sure everyone had healthcare. He's still destroying the country and he's not even President anymore! Of course the Republicans had to oppose him! It was their God given duty to protect this country but now that they're in office we should give them a chance. They're gonna make it all great again. Just you wait and see! Any day now!

The man lied to you. To your goddamned faces. About Obama. About the UK. About Germany. He caused an international incident because he can't stop lying. He can't even figure out how to apologize when he's caught lying.

He's a scumbag of the first water.

We're supposed to worry about his widdle fweelings now? Fark him. He's disgraced this country and he's been on the job for just two months. He doesn't deserve mockery. He deserves contempt. He deserves to be impeached and shunned afterwards, a demonstration of what happens when you disgrace America.

I'd sooner put Lynndie England in office than this asshole.

I know you're being sarcastic, but Obama's health care system was the worst thing to ever be rolled out.  He implemented a system that fines poor people for being too poor to afford the mandatory extortion insurance.  When I looked into getting it, they wanted $462 a month with an $8,000 deductible on everything, including medications.  Once the 8k was met, then it only covered 40%.  I feel like I'm paying the mob protection money when it's the mob I need protection from.  For 2017, I'm being fined about $2,000 for being unable to afford the shiatty govt insurance on top of paying for all my medical care out of pocket.

The way he has to include insults at anyone and anything that disagrees with him is a disturbing thing for a supposed grown up to do. Has no one ever told him it makes him look like a child? Does anyone around him actually care enough about him to save him from himself or do they just go along hoping he'll throw them a bone?

I'm right there with you. I know it really helped some people out but it did me no favors. I wish both sides had sat down and hashed out something better instead of what we ended up with. Ultimately I do believe healthcare needs serious reform and it needs to be widely available but an $8k deductible on shiatty coverage ain't gonna cut it. I've been putting off a couple things as it is. That's 2k out of my pocket that would have paid for doctor visits.

Yeah, but aren't you at all concerned about the whole "not having health insurance" part?

Even if you live the healthiest of lifestyles, illness can still strike - or even an accident like falling off your bike. Broken bones aren't cheap.

A lot of people say "well, it's $700 ($2000, for a family) to go uninsured, or thousands more to have insurance... guess I'm paying $700 or $2000, can't afford to be insured". Some of these people are eligible for ways to avoid this predicament, but don't realize it. Here are three things I'd recommend looking into.

1 - Medicaid has been expanded in 31 states so people at 133% of the Federal poverty rate (poverty rate details at bottom of post) can qualify. Medicaid is free to people who qualify, so it's absolutely worth Googling whether you qualify in your state. Medicaid enrollment is year-round, so do it soon.

2 - For people who are above that 133% point, you may be able to get inexpensive or free insurance for your children (up to age 19) through the state's CHIPS program. Pregnant women qualify too. State rules vary as to who qualifies, but 46 states and DC offer it to households at 200% or less. Most of those set the maximum qualifying income higher, at 250% or 300% of the Federal poverty level. Google up your state's CHIPS program eligibility (every state has their own). CHIPS is (I believe) year-round enrollment so no reason not to sign up for it today.

3 - The ACA has substantial subsidies meant to help people making 400% of the Federal poverty rate or less, but you can't get those subsidies if you have "access to affordable employer-based health insurance". So because my employer offers one, I can't get a subsidized state health insurance marketplace plan. Those who do not have access to an affordable employer plan (maybe they work part time jobs or are self-employed), however, may be able to qualify for the subsidies. It works like this:

If you earn 400% to 300% of the Federal poverty level (listed below) your marketplace plan cannot cost you more than 9.69% of your income. The rest of your premiums will be subsidized by the government. The less you make, the smaller the percentage of your income your premiums can cost you, down to the point where anyone at 133% of the poverty rate is only expected to spend 2.04% of their income on premiums. Subsidies have to be applied for by January 31st, but anyone who qualifies should put a reminder on the fridge and in the phone to enroll next year since the savings are so dramatic and being insured for 2% to 9% of your income is FAR better than paying $700 (or $2000) for no insurance.

Federal poverty lines - $11,800 for a single person, $16,020 for a household of two, $20,160 for three, $24,300 for a family of four, etc.

This took a while to type up, but I hope it can help someone out there.

Same here.  We don't know what the penalty is going to be yet, but it will definitely be cheaper than insurance would have been.  It helped a lot of people, it just needed some work.
