Too bad that doesn't extend to other Disney employees. I worked for ESPN in 2004 & I know they routinely broke labor laws when I worked there. I wouldn't mind an extra $200.

Disney also fired many of their IT workers, but first had them train their H-1B replacements that were needed because they couldn't find Americans to do the job.

It really is a small world after all.

Couldn't they just sue the Feds? The guy at the top looks like easy pickings.

Having worked at Mouschwitz in California long long ago, this should have happened much much sooner.

Hmm.  Same exact amount as John Ramsey's Christmas bonus in 1996.  Coincidence?

Any word on whether the $38 million includes any penalties, or if it's just the amount the govt determined they had cheated their employees? If it's the latter, they won't have learned any lessons. A system where the consequence of getting caught is that you have to give back what you stole is a system that rewards stealing.

38 million? Cop math detected, and I'm not even a cop! 3.8 million.

i'm guessing you are in costume and disney always makes sure your route  is 15 minutes away from somewhere you can walk to to punch out and change your clothes at the end of your shift so you are stuck entertaining the dipshiates as you make your way to the employee area.
back in the day when i worked csr the company wanted us to answer our first inbound call at 9am. it took several minutes to boot the computer and read the notes of changes the company made the day before but they didn't want you to punch in early to do this they only said at 9am you should be answering a call and if you weren't it would show on your chart and you could be fired. come in early and book the computer and read the notes without clocking in or you are 2 strikes behind for the day.

This is the amount on profits from the first day Beauty and the Beast was out for popcorn alone.

Or $4 million in store credit at one of the shops or restaurants in a Disney-owned theme park.

I've tried to explain to 6 year olds why Mickey Mouse ruins lives, families, and relationships, but they just don't care. The Mouse has happily found a market that's immune to the social results of its horrible policies, and they are the tyrants of the new century.
