I thought the story was that is Grey Goose in a cheap bottle.

Not like it matters, vodka only gets so good that you are dumb to go above a certain price point.   So walk past the 5 O'Clock a couple feet but don't get stupid.  Svedka is excellent and cheap.

Svedka is excellent? As what? Starter fluid? Stuff is nasty.

Vodka in general is trash...a one note binary liquor that either undrinkable and good for cooking or drinkable. There is really no sophistication to vodka, unlike wine or whiskey.

I got a bottle of Kirkland Scotch for Christmas (not the 12 year one).  It was alright, but not great.  Then again Scotch comes in so many tastes that others might find it great.  The bottle was impressive-- thick glass with a real cork.

Svedka is poor to middling, people just like the bottle.  It is the Smirnoff of the 2000s.  Smirnoff is now a call brand, when years back it was not even good enough for the well.

Not at all. The way to judge a 'good' vodka, I'm told, is by the absence of flavor...specifically the natural rubbing alcohol taste of trash vodka. So basically, you have a product that you usually mix with juice or some other crap to drink, and the less it worsens the taste of the mixer, the better the product.

Garbage.

Whiskey, wine, hell even gin all have complex notes.  Vodka drinkers are the fingerpainters in a world of Rembrants

I've had good luck with Costco liquors, though I haven't purchased vodka since graduating from the $9.99 handles of Popov that fueled many a college party.

I picked up a bottle of their XO Cognac around Christmas, and it's excellent, especially for the price.  Their Canadian Whiskey is as Canadian Whiskey should be - a mellow whiskey flavor great for mixing, but a bit boring on its own.  Their Silver Tequila is surprisingly good, and worlds better than Cuervo.  It's grassy, peppery, and nice enough you can even drink it straight.

I haven't grabbed one of their expensive Kirkland brand Scotches yet, though I may try one sometime.  Their cheaper Kirkland Scotch blends are very nice for the price and solid choices for Scotch and Sodas.
Their 'Small Batch' Bourbon is the one that really disappointed me, not in the same league as the actual high-end Bourbons I've tried.

Its is just fine, for vodka which is supposed to taste like nothing, and the price can't be beat.  But you are talking to people who drink whiskey because they like that burnt tire and dogshiat flavor.   They drink it on purpose.

I don't care for vodka most of the time, lemon drop martinis are good though.  If I'm getting drunk its on red wine, fun every time.

They do some others too, the Alexander Murray bottles can be from almost anywhere, they buy up extra stock from various distilleries, sometimes they disclose where it comes from and sometimes they don't, but a lot of it is very nice and very affordable.  The undisclosed ones can be fun mysteries, though on the downside if you really like it you may never be able to find it again.

They also have retail bottles from other distilleries at various times.  I picked up a huge bottle of Glenmorangie 10, a bottle of Dalwhinnie 15, and a bottle of The Balvenie Caribbean Cask around Christmas last year.

Good vodka is consumed neat, without chaser nor citrus. Chilled is welcome but not required...

Hangovers generally occur when heavy tannens or excessive sugars are present. Poisoning is always possible, don't get uppity just yet.

Vodka/Vodak has earned the same respect we afford whiskey or bourbon.

Probably depends on local rules and store layout. My local Costco has the restaurant outside the store so anyone can get it. Another I went to had it Inside the store and while they didn't check memberships you technically should be a member to get to it.

Also the pharmacy is available in Canada because they aren't legally allowed to refuse service.
