I like the one where Hellboy and Sarah Connor gain the Iron Throne.

I'd never watch a movie with a gay character in it. It's an abomination unto the Lord.

I'm more of a Belle and Rumpelstiltskin fan myself (not so much Belle, she is worthless).

Has the Beast ever actually been hideous? Cuz usually he's fairly handsome, certainly the Disney versions are.

The wife and I bought a flat in the center of medieval Sarlat, France.  They did exterior shooting there for the most recent film.

It's essentially the musical theater version adapted to film, and the stage musical is fine, so... yeah, I'm sure the live-action Disney version will be perfectly acceptable.  Probably not going to stand out or be considered a classic like the animated version, but it'll be fine.

The only stumbling block that seems like it could potentially throw things off is that in typical Disney fashion they're trying to make the villagers more unambiguously antagonists (whereas in the animated one Gaston is... pretty much 100% correct if you think about it for about thirty seconds, and more respectful in his courtship of Belle to boot, though mostly as a result of the low bar for that).  Since the ambiguity of the film and the fact that it accidentally lands much closer to Grimm's fairy tales level of farked-up is one of the things that makes the animated version popular, that's probably not a move that's going to help much.

Nina_Hartley's_Ass: Has the Beast ever actually been hideous? Cuz usually he's fairly handsome, certainly the Disney versions are.

The issue in the Disney stage version is usually more that he's a right bastard on almost every level rather than that he's ugly as such, probably as a result of men who are, y'know, professional dancers typically being in absurdly good shape and young enough to be attractive even if they eventually aren't gonna age well.

Basically they'll strap a mane on the guy and give him a furry coat so he looks like a weirdly athletic pimp and just trust the audience to roll with it.

Watched the new one tonight.  I enjoyed it a lot- they didn't change much from the animated version, but I did like the way they expanded on it and answered some questions.

Now, was he really Matthew from Downton Abby and Beast, or are these just proctions of his divergent Legión personalities and we are just seeing his hallucinations?

Yeah, I was always bothered by all of the unanswered questions. Really dug into me over the years.

What?

Without the possibility that a member of the cast will be struck by traffic, what's the point?

Today's kids have to have every detail spelled out and can't come from the position of having to accept a story on its own terms.

A man was visiting Spain and passed by a restaurant in Madrid after a bullfight. They were advertising that they served the balls of the bull who lost the bullfight.
Intrigued, the man went inside, only to find that there was a six-week waiting list to get to eat the loser's balls. So he signed up and came back six weeks later.
When he got his meal, there were two teeny, teeny balls on his plate. He called the waiter over to complain.
"I've waited six weeks for bull balls. What are these?"
"Sir," the waiter said, "the bull doesn't always lose."
