Just how fast do dragons grow? Wouldn't it take them at least a few decades to get out of early childhood? Are they being fed some sort of growth hormone?

Clearly they grow far faster in the show than in the books. Dragons grow according to the space they're confined to, and continuously through their lives. They're maybe 2.5-3 years old on the show? Balerion, the largest known dragon to live, was 200 when he died, and was able to eat a mammoth whole allegedly.  Presumably a 747 sized dragon could do the same.

That sounds... a bit too large. By my rough estimate, Danerys would be about the size of a small mouse riding on the shoulders of a 6' man in comparison. It would look a little weird.

Who needs a dragon when you can just teleport around like Arya and Varys did in Season 6?

Yes! You won't catch me complaining that the dragons are too big.

You're thinking of the speed at which GRRM writes.

You'll be disappointed. The giants are all dead, so they can't fark any dragons.

You're right. We need more "character hangs out on a boar somewhere" scenes in this show.

Or a boat even. Though boar-based travel might be kind of neat.

That is such an odd thing. The show will be done in 13 more episodes and will finish next year. GRRM, the originator, may never actually finish.

Well, it will be finished in graphic novel form, if nothing else. The people he's working with on that know the ending.

In all seriousness, do we have any reason not to think that a few months could have passed during that episode? The storylines in the North and everywhere else could have been out of sync by weeks.

In the pilot Catelyn Stark commented on the rapidly growing dire wolves "My but they do grow fast." In a world of dire wolves, magic, giants, white walkers, resurrection, and shadow demons, I can accept that the dragons grow rapidly.

Look at the speed that a xenomorph develops. It is a creature beyond our understanding and for all we know they are growing slower than normal.

I assume that GRRM's estate has already interviewed some ghost writers that will jump in and finish everything if/when GRRM croaks or just throws in the towel. Christopher Tolkien will be happy to turn GRRM's meandering notes into a dozen or more soul-sucking tomes.

Teleport has always been better than Fly.

Fly is a lot of work for flash which is less efficient than Teleport which you can earn much earlier -- which seemed to be a repeated plot point, but whatever.
