As opposed to the sane, rational CEOs everywhere else.

Although the term "psychopath" typically has negative connotations, some of the attributes associated with the disorder can be advantageous in a business setting.

Nope, still a negative if you ask me

Most of the psychopaths I know are in sales.  The CEOs that have it tend not to last too long at one place.

Unless they're the founders.  Lots of total sociopaths in Silicon Valley these days.  With the passage of time many of them are starting to show their colors (see: Uber).

Those are the CEOs that bounce form company to company, destroying them, and collecting fabulous severance prizes on the way to the next one.

As I was reading this , I was thinking Trump ticks all the boxes including the way his written tweets expose his true nature.

We're probably evolved to follow psychopaths - the decisions that would be difficult for complete humans are easy for them.

I'd have a hard time laying off half the workforce in order to save the company.  I'd also have a hard time leaving grandpa Thag in a cave in order to save the rest of the tribe. Psychopaths wouldn't have a problem with either, and their salesmanship skills and justifications make it semi-palatable for the survivors.

The COOs all have BPD. Do not ask about what's "eating" the board.

Time to slash personnel costs to balance the budget.

i thought mental illness was not something to be shunned and ashamed of these days? Or is that only for the cool and edgy mental illnesses.

As long as you're a homeless, you shouldn't stigmatize mental illness.  If you have a successful career you're a monster that should be caged.

Shunned and ashamed != celebrated and vaulted to a position where they can make a few people very rich by lying, pillaging, and ruthlessing.

People cheer for Hannibal Lecter and only like the first half of Full Metal Jacket for a reason...

We've know about this for years.  You need to be a remorseless, unfeeling bastard to run large companies. Making the decision to layoff 1000's of people while you keep your job or take all the CEOs interviewed by congress over the years, how they deny everything and act as if nothing was wrong.  You have to be crazy to sit there and think it's all okay and getting away with the crime is the only thing that matters.

Unbridled capitalism suits them like bacteria in a petri dish.

Salesmanship skills make it palatable for the survivors? I'd think surviving would make it palatable for the survivors.
