Creamed cornea doesn't sound good

This is so absolutely horrible. Seriously, if it costs you money to be part of a trial, there's a high likelihood of shadiness going on.

If you're going to screw around with your eyes...why would you do both at the same time?  Even laser eye surgery only does one eye at a time, in case they bork something up.

I saw a blind patient during my residency who had been treated by these frauds. They didn't blind him like the people in this story. He had a degenerative condition and went blind despite their "treatment." What they did do was charge him over $100k for false hope and a procedure that had no chance of doing anything useful. As he was losing even the ability to perceive light they were still telling him that his sight would start improving any day now. I attempted to tell him his actual prognosis, and he would hear none of it. Only patient who I have ever recommended to them that they should sue.

I loathe these farking con artists. They rob people, they lie to people, they take advantage of the desperate and they sully my profession and everything that medicine is supposed to stand for. I feel true hatred for this organization, and I hope that not only do they get the legal smackdown that they deserve but that everyone responsible gets to experience a painful, hopeless illness.

My grandpa had a similar issue with a cataract surgery. His vision was better than mine before he had the surgery, and after he was nearly blinded. He had to wear painful contact lenses to try to make up for the damage. It broke my heart. And he was told he couldn't sue, because at his age he couldn't prove that there was a loss to his quality of life.

Shouldn't this sort of fake science, you know... be illegal? Isn't that why we have the FDA?
