That's terrific news. Just a few days ago, I hadn't even heard of the series. Then a few people brought it up in a Fark thread about Iron Fist and I checked it out. It's a very different take on the superhero genre and I found it to be really quite good. Here's hoping it gets more buzz and increased viewership.

and then I read the article and find this line:
Legion is a wholly original take on the superhero genre.
So Legion might be original, but apparently I am not.

Can we get some more shots of Rachel Keller's ass? Because while twice in one episode is good and all, I think we can do better.

I have yet to hear a bad thing about this show.

(I've only watched the first episode.)

It's quite good, but be prepared; It's one of those shows you actually have to focus on or you'll miss things. I'm sure I have, and plan on re-watching it when the season is done.

Also, given how squirrelly and detached I usually feel after watching it - if you have a mental illness this might trigger it.

Here's a taste.

It also has a DEEPLY creepy, yet also somehow arousing performance by Aubrey Plaza.

One of these days I'm going to have to work up the courage to watch it with a pair of good headphones on. I hear the sound design is amazing, but I miss most of that because of my crappy TV speakers.

Watching it slowly here.. it is.. different and sort of okay. Im struggling with the lead dude is all, he is a bit unconvincing especially in the flashbacks

Went with the wife to see Logan on Sunday then that night she wanted to watch Legion. I called her an X-Men fangirl.

This show is so good and so engrossing. I loved the first episode but each new episode seems to top the last. There are even times that I don't know what is happening on my TV but it's still extremely entertaining.

I wouldn't say this is the reason I liked the last episode the best, but if I'm being honest with myself, it was a reason.

His flashbacks, the nature thereof, and his participation and awareness off them change over time, often, they are never certain.

It may have something to do with advertising. I hadn't heard of the series prior to the Fark thread I mentioned. While I don't have cable and thereby don't get commercials, I was fully aware of shows like The OA and Stranger Things prior to their release. I don't recall even seeing a thread here on Fark about the show before it came out and we discuss almost everything within this genre.

I truly enjoy this series.  The bonus of Rachel Keller's ass was exceptional.

But is is her eyes and facial expressions that almost make my heart ache.  There is something ethereally beautiful about her in this show.  Google Image Search of her does not show the weirdly stunning beauty.

Maybe it is the 60s stylings?  In this shot from the show, she looks so much hotter than just a random shot from GIS.

The show has been brilliant, especially for a Marvel project that is literally trying to avoid the previous mold. The tone is odd and weird, but so is the subject. You can't do a show about someone's mental illness actually BEING his super powers without things to get a little trippy.

And it's got Aubrey Plaza as a mental process out of kilter, so it's got they going for it.

I'd seen some discussion in a fark thread when they were first making it, and read up on the character then. Then forgot about it until I saw itunes offer the first episode for free. Dunno why I didn't look to see if Hulu had it first but I downloaded that first episode and have been Huluing it ever since.

There is something entrancing about the idea of an Untouchable Woman.

And then if you think about her powers, sex is possible in the astral plane with duder, OR sex is this thing where they touch and now he's in her body and she's in his body and she can fark him in her body with his body.  I assume this will be addressed at some point, because I'm stocking up on popcorn now to see that scene.

I can only second this.  First episode was a little tough to get through, but it does pick up a bit.  Pace drags a touch and I am watching it without commercials, with commercials it must be a little more painful.

plus Jemaine Clement's character is fun

F*ck Yeah! It is.  I've been watching using the FX Roku channel 20-25 minutes before the 1st commercial break, then bam, bam, bam, bam 4 segments where they speak like 2 lines and then cut to a 4 commercial block.  Might not be so bad but there's only like 6 commercials.

Did not know it was on Hulu, I'm a non-commercial subscriber, maybe I'll give it another chance this week.

If you don't know who legion is take a gander at his wiki

the guy is an extremely powerful mutant. I don't know why Fox thru him into another universe, it's about as stupid as DC or Marvel not connecting their TV shows to the Movie world. They spend all that money and don't have a full encompassing world.

Rachel Keller should have gotten the role of young Jean Grey in X-Men Apocalypse.  Maybe she could have saved the film.  I thought Turner was pretty blah, and apparently Keller is a natural redhead.

The problem for the show is that if you didn't already know who the main character is from the comics, the story only halfway makes sense for the first several episodes.

I finally had to look up the character on Wikipedia and read a couple of paragraphs to get some sense of WTF was going on, otherwise I was just going to stop watching it. Once I knew enough background to make the story coherent, it became much more enjoyable.

I think this review was apt: "Beautifully crafted, occasionally incoherent, often challenging and insistently demanding, but what's not entirely clear in the early episodes is whether the payoff will be worth all the trouble."

You know, I'm not a comic book person.  The format just doesn't work for me.  So I know jack shiat about the characters, the universe, the consistencies or carryovers, or any lack thereof.

I loved this series from the first episode.  I love that it's disorienting and I actually have to pay attention to figure it out.   I hate predictable storytelling.

So.. yeah.  Thumbs up and stuff.

I don't mind that you have to pay really close attention to the show, but I think the low ratings stem from putting style above story.

Even if what the viewer thinks they know about the story turns out to be misdirection, as in the first season of Mister Robot, spending five episodes confusing the audience with so much unexplained random seeming stuff isn't a recipe for healthy audience numbers.

Yes it is a good example of comic book stuff rewritten for non-comic book folks. Like you and me :)

I don't WANT to know who this guy is in advance, I want to find out as he does. That is the core narrative.

Excellent show.  I cannot believe no one is lavishing over the sets.  Right up there with the shooting and the sound design... And this is on top of a complete mind fark of a plot.   My only complaints are you have to pay too much attention (I can but I can see a lot just being lost watching), and thumb head in the shadows is just creepy, in the light is just bad laughably bad

It's Marvel/DC so I'll watch it but the whole "What's going on?" thing would kill the deal otherwise. In a movie or two ep pilot, fine, but no way I'd invest this much time with this little payoff if it wasn't comics related.
