I'm an intermittent wrestling fan in that I have the WWE Network but I mostly have it for old stuff and the "old timers shoot the shiat" shows.  I did however catch a PPV where The Miz and "Mizdow" tagged up, that was awesome and a complete surprise as I had heard nothing about it.  What happened to that?

Quick plug for Bruce Prichard's podcast, that has been a joy since I ran into that a few months ago.

Sandow got released which is a damn shame because he was fun in the ring and during his skits.  I dont understand how or why creative decides who should be on the roster and who gets a pink slip.  Mizdow was a great character.  All his characters were great really.

Have you checked out its sister show, What Happened When, with Tony Schiavone?

It's the NWA/WCW side of that era.

It's the greatest podcast in the history of our sport!

Now that I think about it I do recall him being on Chris Jericho's podcast, thanks for the info though.

I haven't yet but I will.  Is it the same format as Bruce Prichard has where somebody goes over a topic with him or is it only him and he him answers emails?

I grew up on the old Mid-South/WCCW 'restlin back in it's hey day. Von Erich's/Freebirds, Rock n Roll Express/Midnight Express, Ric Flair, Bruiser Brody, Andre the Giant, Harley Race popping up every now and again. JYD, Mr Wrestling 2 and Magnum TA, Chris Adams, Iceman (mommy says it be that way some times) Parsons, etc.

What made it fun to watch as a kid was the way they treated it as being real and actually wrote the shows that way.

I never could get into the cartoon characters of the WWF/E. I could believe Bruiser Brody or Terry 'Bam Bam' Gordy could win a bar fight. Hulk Hogan? Not so much.

While helping a buddy work on his patio, I watched a bit of the new stuff because his 9 year old has the network. Apparently their "champ" is a fat guy who literally tuck and rolls into people and it "hurts" because he's fat I guess? When I say fat, I don't mean One Man Gang fat or Kamala fat, I mean a fat dude they grabbed out of a bar somewhere.

It seems every match much have someone must dive out of the ring so they can be caught by their opponent, for some reason.

I guess it works? WWE is the last one standing and the crowd seem to really love chanting things. While they were chanting "this is awesome", I was thinking "this is funny in a non-funny way".

Then again, maybe not. The building and the crowd looked very small.

Ok Mr. Weatherson, it's time for your Metamucil and apple sauce.  Then you can take your pill and have a nice nap, doesn't that sound nice?

Yeah, the champ was Kevin Owens (up til the last pay-per-view where Goldberg won the title again). The internet wrestling fans love Owens. I don't see the appeal. I prefer the larger than life folks and Owens looks more like a LARPer than a wrestler. I mean, he's fat but not even strong fat. He's just short and fat.

The same reason people dig Bayley. The Champ Next Door, to prove anyone can make it and do well with it.

My dad took me and my brother to a house show in Orlando way back in like, 1975 / 1976. Harley Race, Dusty Rhodes, Andre the Giant, Wahoo McDaniel are the names I remember from the card.

In hindsight, it probably wasn't the best place to take a 6 year old and his 4 year old little brother. It was in a tin warehouse with a dirt floor, bleachers set up around a makeshift ring. The crowd was old school Florida.

I dig Bayley for very different reasons than I dig Kevin Owens/Steen.

He's now working for TNA along with Pritchard as Aron Rex.  Which recently had a transformation into a flamboyant gay heel who uses his gaudy rings as brass knuckles.
