When I was in middle school one of my math teachers had the numbers in pi as a wallpaper around the room, so sometimes I'd just try to memorize some of pi when I got bored :P

I used to have the first 200 digits memorized for a talent show ten years ago. Due to possessing a good memory but no reason to practice however, I can still recite π  up to 60 places.

I prefer to celebrate it as steak and BJ day.

Well to be fair you post said it was exactly 3, Evil Mackerel's post had that wavy equal sign which would imply  pi is approximately 3.  Totally different.

Best I can recall is 3.14159265358979 , and I still have my slide-rule hidden away somewhere...

Remember when Math tests had values for constants like pi included ?  Tests were never the same once those fancy calculators became popular (and cheap enough for a student to own one).

remember, if you ever need to know the volume of pizza that you're scarfing, it's simple.

Let the crust thickness be "a", an the radius of the pizza be "z"

pi * z * z * a

I do not want pie or Pi. I want the frozen water to stop falling from the sky already. A foot of snow in one day is bullshiat.

I like that idea except for the Euler's identity part.

With pi, the preferred way to display Euler's identity using arguably the five most important numbers in math is:
shop.spreadshirt.com
With the radius version it would be -1 instead of +1.

And I'm a positive guy!

Sounds like a time to celebrate. I don't want to be a downer. But I watched the movie a few days ago and got really depressed. Brilliant production. No shades of grey, a truly black and white film. Biblical numeralogy to tie dye spirals and the secrets of the stock market by way of ant glue is fascinating but damn, I'd forgotten how depressing it was.

My kid could get extra credit by bringing a pie to school to share with the class. He brought a portillos chocolate cake. The cake is a pie.
